Recently had 1 night at Tregarthen's for business, I posted a separate review for their restaurant as it was so lovely. What a fantastic hotel! Although I only had 1 night, and worked most of it, what a lovely room to work from, the view was stunning. My room was clean and well decorated. The staff were beyond professional, helpful and polite, what a credit to the hotel. I will definitely be booking to come back for a holiday.

We went to the restaurant. We've been many times over the years. Booked last night for 7pm, ordering pre dinner drinks. We were horribly rushed by the waiting staff. To the extent that plates were cleared whilst were still chewing! We asked for a few minutes break for coffee and petit fours. They came immediately! We asked to go to the lounge area and were finally left in peace. Evidently a shift change as the young waiting staff left about 8pm. No second sitting in the restaurant, it emptied quickly. Just seemed desperate to get people out of tge dining area. It was really disappointing. After many years ( including our honeymoon) won't go again.

We recently returned from a few days on the Scilly isles. We stayed at Tregarthen's for 3 nights, it was our first time staying there, we were not disappointed! The hotel had the most beautiful sea views overlooking the harbour. Our room was beautiful, clean, and modern. The service was amazing, well done to all of the staff there, they all went above and beyond, nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel was clean and had a lovely relaxing vibe. We were only planning to eat in the restaurant one evening, after the first dinner we ended up eating there every night, it was delicious. Breakfast was plentiful, hot and tasty. We have already booked again for next year.

Return visit after 50 years for my 65th birthday and apart from some developments in Hugh Town, the islands were as I remembered. The hotel was superb and couldn’t have been better in anyway from the friendly helpful staff to the delicious food. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed including fresh milk everyday. There are a lot of stairs but the staff are more than willing to help with cases etc. Beach towels available to take out which , when you have a low weight luggage allowance, is great. Estella signed us in and even though it was only her third week, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the boats etc. Alec and Jeremy looked after us in the restaurant even getting the best table in the house to watch gig race. All in all we cannot fault the service and care we were shown for our weeks stay; the staff obviously care about their work and the hotel. Thank you all for helping me to relive some childhood memories.

Stayed here on our visit to St Marys. Was right by the main dock so not far to walk. As most other had commented this hotel does have steps (though there is a slope by the main enterence) We stayed in room 63 which was lovely and had a small seaview. I did enjoy sitting by the window watching the sea. I would recommend this room for 2 people. We had a small wardobe then a chest of draws, plenty of storage for us and our soft bags (could see if you had a hard suitcase storage would be limited) . The only slight downside was the bathroom was a little dated. You had to pre book your breakfast time at the start which was fine and worked out well for us. Breakfast choice was good and the chef was able to make simple scrambed eggs by the selves or a combo of other items on the menu. The room was cleaned every day and got fresh water. Location wise it's was perfect and we would stay here again. Although the hotel was full it never felt like that. There were dogs there when we stayed but it wasn't an issue for us. A few evenings we went back and enjoyed a drink on the patio/ lounge area. On our departure the hotel booked our tranfser back to the airport which was great.

Lovely to get off the Scillonian and walk straight into our harbour side hotel! Stayed in their new lodges which were perfect with splendid views of the bay and harbour. Solid cooked breakfast from menu accompanied by a range of continental options. Pecan slices were a favourite! Staff were delightful and friendly.

Tregarthans has a truly lovely location and it's outside space is exceptional .We stayed in room 30 a deluxe room. The room is small and it was challenging to find floor space to put our cases on as there are no luggage racks. The bathroom is tight and the shower a very disappointing experience. It is a really small old fashioned shower head that falls off the fitting easily and uses a shower curtain once you ve cl8mbwd into a high bath! There was invasive tv noise from neighbours. Our tv was not working and only on the second mention at reception was an engineer called out after Maria could not find any channels either. Thank you to her for help. We had one evening meal which I left and was told by the chef it was fine via a waitress.Apparently gluten free flour is used and can be gloopy and appear uncooked when used in batter. Our terrace had wonderful views bur was crawling with sets do didn t put my feet down. A mixed experience for us.....other reviewers seem to like it but not for us again.

Had an excellent week's stay here. Stayed in a superior sea view room - the view across the harbour/quay was amazing. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast every morning was great - a buffet available plus cooked breakfast options to order. We also had an evening meal and a Sunday dinner there and both were excellent. All the staff were helpful and friendly. Overall a great experience, very enjoyable!
