Regent Motel

When I travel throughout the United States and Canada, many times I will look for on old time, Mom & Pop place, as opposed to the corporate chains. You usually get a clean, decent room at a good price and sometimes a bit more care and service than the others. The Regent did not disappoint. In addition to my wife and I, two friends and one of their wives were traveling along. Upon arrival we were greeted with courtesy and a smile, given a choice of several rooms, and he wanted to make sure our stay was pleasant and as we expected. We were able to park out motorcycles right in front of our rooms, which is always a big plus. The motel needs further upkeep; but I actually watched employees working on one of the rooms, as well as the main building, which was nice to see. Our room and bathroom were very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. I will say that the rooms were a tad on the small side; but then again, I just just rest & sleep there, and our bathroom had a pink decor and was definitely that old time feel; but it was usable and we had no issues. An Irving gas station is very close, and numerous restaurant options are just up the road a bit. We went to Island Girls Diner for supper and breakfast, highly recommended. I would stay there again and if you aren't looking for frills, this could be your place to stay.

Location is out of the way and more quiet. Private entrance and lots of room for parking is great!

Was a good restful stay - owner works hard to ensure that all is well

Since there were no eating establishments in the immediate area it seems to me there was plenty of room in the office front room to set up a coffee bar. Starting each day without a cup of coffee was not ideal.
