Penrhiw Priory

We stayed at Penrhiw for four nights. The former vicarage is a delightful 10 minute walk from the centre of St David's, along a couple of country lanes . It feels like it is in the middle of the countryside. We had the garden room which has a big bay window and a huge en-suite. The bathroom looked like it had been fitted out very recently and was very "high end". The house itself feels quite historic and a lot of the interior is fitted with dark wood panelling and flooring and everything is on quite a large scale, such as the size of the rooms and the front door etc. Everywhere is immaculate and spotless and nicely furnished. There is a very nice lounge with a large tele and books and a big sofa etc and also an honest bar with free tea and coffee. Parking is easy and the whole place felt very secure. The staff are very attentive, professional and friendly. The breakfast was excellent, although there is no cooked breakfast available. We didn't miss having a cooked breakfast as the continental breakfast on offer was of such good quality. The hotel isn't staffed all day and there was nobody there at night time. The only negative comment I would make is that the mattress was too soft for my partner and she didn't sleep all that well. If that could be resolved by staying in a different room then we wouldn't hesitate to come back. Apart from this, Penrhiw is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in.

Lovely room. Very quiet and surrounded by well cared for landscaping. Short walk (bit of a hill) into St Davivds. Well worth the money. Some Brandy would be nice in the honesty bar.

Fabulous stay at this gorgeous hotel. Wonderful room with an extremely comfortable bed and lovely views. The continental breakfast is excellent and the staff absolutely lovely. The hotel is a 12 minute walk (3 minute drive) from St David's and is ideally placed for you to explore the UK's smallest city and beautiful Pembrokeshire. Staying at this peaceful, relaxing hotel in beautiful gardens was a real highlight. We did not want to leave! Thank you to all the staff who work so hard to make this hotel, and it's sister hotel Twr y Felin, such memorable places to stay and relax. Very highly recommended.

This is the best place to stay in St Davids. You collect you room key from their sister hotel Twr y Felin (who do a fab afternoon tea) and they give you a map and info on where you are staying. It is easy to find and the room was spacious, clean, tea and coffee with shortbread and also a min fridge with milk and water bottles and even a proper coffee maker! you are surrounded by tree and woodland walks, with the Cathedral only 10 mins walk away. The cathedral is a lovely building, so much to see. St David's is a beautiful small city with many things to do from going on boat trips to Ramsey or Skomer Island or just wandering around the shops, cafes, and especially the hand made chocolate shop (who also sell ice cream) which is heaven!

Had a lovely stay here. Very comfortable room and the staff were very attentive. It’s just outside town so take their advice that it’s not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. There were some lovely touches which made a real difference; free electric car charging, top up of bottled water (most days), vegan pastries at breakfast.

Fabulous stay. We've stayed at all three hotels a few times and it always delights us. It's peaceful, tastefully decorated and has beautiful gardens. The staff are so friendly and dinner at the sister hotel Twr Y Felin is superb. It's a great base to explore the fabulous countryside and coastline we have in spectacular West Wales
