Just spent two nights at the Buccleuch Arms Saint Boswell's, the staff were excellent, the food was good, dinner and breakfast, the room was good and the hotel, although could do with a makeover was good. Would stay there again.

Called in this afternoon to give it one last chance (after a less than perfect meal last time) and very glad that we did. The new menu (mostly the same but with some nice extras) was a big hit with my better half. The sticky chicken goujons were particularly good and in fact all of the meal and the service was much improved to the extent that we are seriously considering changing our reservation for a different restaurant tomorrow, so well done....now just keep it up

I have driven past this hotel for 40 years. I haven't a clue why I haven't stayed here before but Kelso races gave me the perfect excuse. What a gem ,hiding in plain sight! Comfy bedroom and spacious public rooms Brilliant supper of Eyemouth haddock and as good a Scottish breakfast as anyone could wish for. Delightful attentive staff completed the warmest of welcomes.

Friendly staff can only go so far Really helpful and friendly staff, but the room was POOR. Very tired room and hotel. I had a Guinness and a burger for dinner which was good. But the room was draughty and in poor condition. I slept in my socks and tracksuit bottoms!!! Breakfast was good but so uncomfortable as it was freezing room temperature. Do t be fooled by the official images in app for this hotel. They must have been taken years ago.

We had the opportunity of staying here once again over Hogmanay and we were delighted to be back in this friendly atmosphere. We were made most welcome and our stay was most enjoyable. The cuisine was, as always, great with a varied, yet small menu, with a couple of specials on offer on the chalk board above the welcome fire. The service was superb, friendly and timely. The bar was vibrant and very festive with many locals frequenting and enjoying the warm atmosphere. Our room was serviced every day but needs some attention to small maintenance jobs to be done. We cannot recommend this hospitality venue enough with great food, good drink and excellent company.

Very helpful friendly staff but hotel so old its rooms need upgrading therefore didnt feel it was worth the money. Lovely place but nothing to do!! No pubs or shops!! Obviously not the hotels fault but beacuse of this felt alot of money for a mediocre (but very clean) room in a village where there is nothing!
