Super 8 by Wyndham St. Augustine

The rooms are praised for their comfort, spaciousness, and quiet environment. Guests appreciate the friendly and helpful customer service. The complimentary breakfast is also satisfying.

The price was fairly cheap, so I went ahead and booked. I only needed a place to lay my head for the night. Definitely got what I paid for. The floors of the room were completely covered in thick, black scuff marks, there were stains on the curtains and shower curtains, the handle of the shower was falling off, furniture was scuffed, paint and walls were chipped and peeling. The bed felt like it was broken, as I sunk straight into the middle every time I got in and had to crawl my way out. No bed bugs, but lots of other critters on the floors and side tables. I put a muffin on the bedside table in the morning and when I picked it up about a minute later, 3 insects crawled out from under it. Breakfast was included, but staff acted like it was a huge inconvenience to put it out when I arrived 30 minutes after the supposed start time. I hadn't asked for more, but looked around the corner to see if there was more than a bowl of bananas, some pre-packaged muffins, and coffee. Seeing me look, the staff then let out a huge sigh and began bringing out cereal, yogurt, pastries, and milk one at a time. I grabbed a yogurt and muffin and left rather than waiting to see how long it would take to get anything else brought out, especially since it seemed I had made myself public enemy number one. This motel is also fairly removed from the main attractions downtown, so proximity isn't really a beneficial factor here. Overall, if you're not picky and looking for some place to lay your head for a few hours, you'll probably be fine and save a few bucks, but in the future, I would choose one of the other places in the area and spend the few extra dollars.
