Photos are deceiving hotel does not look like the hotel. Hotel is not on the beach it is 8min from the beach. 4pm
staff wasn't very welcoming not that knowledgeable about the local area.5am staff at front desk was very kind and helpful.

We decided to be spontaneous and take an unplanned excursion. We booked a room at The Ponce thru Trivago and wondered what we'd get. Everything was great, from the check-in to the room. Even dinner was good at the on-site restaurant. I had a question about the TV remotes, and Mikel was very helpful. If we go up to St. Augustine again - The Ponce will be on our "let's go back there" list.

I really enjoyed my stay The Ponce St. Augustine Hotel. Joel and Gael were helpful with my questions and my very late check-in due to a lengthy flight delay. The hotel restaurant was convenient for an evening drink and the bartender and all staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel delivered on its promises, the beds were very comfortable, and I appreciated all the extra pillows and the coffee and water in the lobby. The hotel is within a short (20-minute) walk to downtown, which is great for avoiding parking and traffic. I look forward to a future stay!

We wanted to spend a day at the Lightner Museum and reserved 2 nights at The Ponce. Hubby made the reservation and I did not realize the hotel is on an extremely busy road. Yes, it is walking distance to restaurants and places to see in Downtown but this old lady could never ever cross that road! The room was very clean. We were on the pool side. There is no elevator. I did hear the train but it wasn't a big deal. I saw Old Town Trolly next door and made reservations. They pick up at 9 and will bring you back ( at 5). It certainly was the way to go!

First of all it is NOT a hotel. It is a two story motel without an elevator. If you are not able to climb stairs, request a ground level room. The room was very clean, however it felt like an upscale dormitory room. The only channel available on the TV was Fox News. No safe in the room. The next day after our check in, our room was not serviced even though the Do Not Disturb sign was not displayed on the door knob. When we went to the front desk to request fresh towels, the desk clerk (with the cap) seemed very annoyed. On a positive note, they did allow us to check into our room early since it was ready. If you're not planning on being in your room much, the cost was reasonable.

The price in the site isn’t the same, once you get to the counter they charge an extra $45 that’s not listed on the site which allows access to the pool and wifi and you can’t decline the payment. It’s not listed on the site to make the room look cheaper. I felt safe there and it was manageable for the 2 nights I stayed but I would never go back now that I know the true price and could get something better with more accommodations. The piping is also loud at night even if you don’t use the bathroom and lots of rust on the metals in certain areas.
I’d rate it a 2.8 out of 5
