Property Description
In full disclosure the Red Cottage is a 125 year old structure, built from lumber salvaged after the 1914 fire. It was used by a native Spaniard, Manuel Menendez, where he rolled cigars until the mid 1930's. It has its quirks and flaws but it's decor, warmth and persona are enchanting. Incredibly convenient and very accessible this is perfect for you if you love vintage.
It was converted to a one room studio with a small kitchen and bathroom. Rustic, quaint, cozy and charming ~ it was recently renovated but still maintains a touch of its history. The kitchen is equipped with a Keurig coffee machine and pods, cream & sugar, a small refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and normal kitchen necessities. Please note per the pictures, the bathroom is small and the shower can be a bit tight. A flagstone patio offers outside seating. Free off-street parking is available with lots of extra space for trailer, boat or a recreational vehicle.
The Cottage sits on a large piece of property behind a turn-of-the-century Victorian home (the property owner's rental) overlooking Castillo Drive, the entrance to the city. Francis Field, across the street, is the downtown dog park/event field. Less than 200 yards East is The Visitor Center, and City Gates. Castillo de San Marco (the fort) and Saint George Street are just beyond. Short drives take you to the beautiful beaches of Villano, Anastasia State Park and St. Augustine Beach. On the way to the beach, stop by the Alligator Farm and the Historic St. Augustine Light House. For shopping, St. George street offers many lovely boutiques, and gift shops. Or choose from area outlet malls, farmer's markets, antique stores, etc.About pets:Pets allowed: dogs and cats (limit 2 total).About checkOut:Check out before 12:00 PM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.Age restrictions for The Loft access..About checkIn:Check in after 4:00 PM.About smoking:Smoking is not permitted.Ashtrays are supplied for patio smoking.About minBookingAge:Minimum age to rent: 18.About events:Events allowed: family gatherings, birthday parties, weddings.Maximum event attendees: 4,Ample parking, shaded yard w/ some accessories..

A cozy cottage within short walking distance of historic district. Has its own parking spot and an uncovered outdoor sitting area for enjoying an evening cocktail- which I did!

We just stayed at the Little Red Cottage for the second time, and somehow it was even better than the first. The space is the perfect size for me, my wife, and our pup, Patchouli. It was spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully stocked with all the little conveniences that make a stay easier. The bed was super comfortable, and the shady patio was a great spot to relax and people-watch.The location couldn’t be better...walkable to food, drinks, shopping, and everything the historic district has to offer. Once we parked in the private off-street spot right beside the cottage, we never touched our car again. The host was fantastic: warm, friendly, quick to respond, and flexible. She made us feel welcome from the start. We love this cottage and will definitely be back again!

This little cottage is just too adorable! We loved it. The location was perfect. It faces Castillo Ave. It is a 7 to 15 minute walk to the important places! We didn't use the kitchen much other than to make coffee with plenty of KCups and the fixin's, but it is a full kitchen. The bed was perfectly firm! The temperature inside when we arrived was perfectly cool. The AC did have a struggle with the heat index of 110 - 115 for a couple days. But the owner made sure to get us a couple fans to help with that which was a good send! Hilary, was an awesome owner. Communication was perfect and caring! I highly recommend renting this little red cottage!

Unique property in an excellent location
We enjoyed our stay in the cottage, very comfortable with an eccentric kind of vintage style. The location was excellent for visiting all the local attractions. Communication was great. We would definitely stay again.

Great location.
The cottage had everything we needed and was very clean. The location was perfect. Quiet location but close enough for a 5 minute walk to the historic district of St Augustine.
