Baron's Cove

In July 2025, my daughter and I enjoyed our annual beach vacation at Baron’s Cove. From the moment we arrived and checked in with the familiar friendly faces at the front desk, including Kristen, Nissa, Maria and Christopher to unwinding and unpacking in our impeccable, spacious and attractive loft, we quickly adapted to our “Sag” mode. Baron’s Cove never disappoints. Our early morning hours first start with 1-2 complimentary cups of freshly brewed delicious coffee before enjoying a long walk. Of course, Main Street which is only a block away is also our daily stomping grounds when the chic designer shops, boutiques and renown restaurants are open. As you may guess, the bulk of our daylight hours are spent either relaxing and catching some rays at Baron’s well maintained and attended swimming pool or taking a shuttle to enjoy the ocean. Most great evenings start with a perfect cocktail or glass of wine prepared by Kamani, the most talented bartender in Suffolk County. Ron Johnston, Baron’s GM often stopped in the bar/lounge or patio with a warm “hello” and to ensure that each day and night at Baron’s was perfecto! Please be mindful that notwithstanding the many famous restaurants throughout Sag Harbor and the Hamptons, the restaurant at Baron’s Cove is a classic dining room offering elevated takes prepared with ingredients from local Long Island farms and bountiful waters surrounding. Indeed, Baron’s Cove is exceptional and fully self-contained. After all, Baron’s Cove is where a happy, relaxing summer is a given!

We visited Baron’s Cove for our anniversary. The hotel is charming and a very short walk into darling Sag Harbor. The room is white and clean and nautical. The bathroom modern and large. We had a sweet little courtyard with chairs and table seating, a view of the pool and water. We loved the morning yoga. Karen, the instructor, went above and beyond giving individual attention and instruction. The small group became friends by class end. We loved the location to town. We walked each night to dinner. We visited nearby wineries. We enjoyed the bar and its cozy setting. While the dinner upstairs, outdoor location overlooking the water is lovely, the food was fine. Our waitress was wonderful. Speaking of staff, the staff bends over backwards for the guests. Unfortunately, some of the guests almost ruin the experience. There were several complaining, sour guests constantly berating any staff they encountered. I’m not sure how the staff doesn’t ask them to take a hike. We wanted to do so. If you are planning a trip to Sag Harbor, I highly recommend Baron’s, a great jumping off point to explore the Hamptons.

Wonderful, friendly staff. Beautiful accommodations in a stunning setting which felt a world away from it all. Wed. weekly bbq is a blast of Americana with delicious and plentiful offerings. Don’t miss a boat tour with Cpt. Joe off the hotel’s own dock!

We went there 2x on two successive weekends because we wanted a place with a view to have drinks and a bite to eat. The first time was kind of fun and the hamburger was good. But...the 2nd visit was a disaster. We would never return here...and you shouldn't either! This place is a chaotic mess, with terrible managers, inexperienced waiters, and uneven food offerings. It took 90 minutes...literally...to get our drinks despite numerous requests of the manager and our waitress, all of whom blamed it on "we are very busy tonight"...yet half the tables were empty! The calamari the first week was good; the 2nd week was a messy, fried bunch of onions with just a few calamari. This just isn't worth it! Save your money....and your time.

Great place to stay in Sag Harbor. Walk to town, and easy drives to all Hamptons. Will return.
