Playden Oasts Hotel

Wow! What a place the Playden Oasts Hotel is....we have spent the last 3 nights here, The Oast room 4 is lovely, bed comfy, shower good (does take a little time for hot water to get through but once it has can not fault it 👍), hospitality tray excellent, breakfast lovely, evening meal superb, staff Kim, Ann & Julie and so friendly. We can't wait to visit again soon 🙂 ANN without a 'e '...... We love you x

Our stay was disappointing - our room smelt very strongly of damp (making our belongings smell) the hallways smelt of cigarette smoke and the walls were so thin we could hear the neighbours conversations and they could hear ours. It was a rather uncomfortable stay, and not worth the price of the room. I wrote to the hotel to complain about our experience, and they quickly got back to me and offered a full refund - I was extremely grateful for their speedy resolution! Potentially, if there was a nice room for a more reasonable amount of money, we would stay again, but we definitely not stay in that room again!

We stayed in one of the roundel rooms in the Oast House which was quaint. Nice welcome and staff were helpful.

Would stay here again Having read prevous reviews we arrived with open minds. Many of the critical comments made in the last couple of years seem to have been addressed. E.g. the car park, the gardens and the decor. We arrived an hour before the advertised check in time which was not even mentioned as we shown to our roundel room. The room was very clean and the decoration fresh. The bed was large and comfortable and smelt fresh. We enjoyed our evening meal but found the drinks a little expensive, maybe that's the going rate for this area. Breakfast was plentiful and our cooked breakfast hot. Although we were confused that several people requested scrambled egg and were told they couldn't do them as they were short on milk and awaiting a delivery. As we didn't have cereal we donated ours! The only thing we feel worth mentioning is that the roundel really could do with some nets at the windows as there was no privacy unless we closed the slightly too small blind and the curtains.

A pleasant stay. We had a very pleasant two night stay in a lovely roundel room. The restaurant food was good and service friendly and attentive. The location is pretty and only a few minutes drive from Rye. I'm sure we will return.

Awful. The hotel was awful. Everything was old dusty and tatty. Was like some out of the 70’s. I was charged a lot for the room and given the amount this is the worst hotel experience I have had. Mouldy smell, barely there shower. Just terrible. Avoid.
