We had a delicious meal in this warm ,cosy pub, with excellent service from Callum,our helpful and friendly waiter. The food is home made( recommend the chicken,leek and ham pie ,which happened to be on ‘specials’) and the portions generous. The halloumi fries were delicious 😋

My wife and I have just spent the most fabulous weekend in Rye, staying at Saltcote Place. There are many superlatives which can be used, but the one we have decided is simply fantastic, From being met at the front of this magnificent Grade 2 listed building, which is also the hosts home, you are treated as someone special. A complementary glass of wine, which was very nice indeed, and Paul spends as long as necessary finding out your likes and dislikes concerning breakfast. We stayed in the Royal Military suite and again attention to detail is outstanding, from the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in to the bathroom with full size bath and separate shower cubicle. A glass of bubbles with breakfast is just the thing to start a day of exploring Rye old town and the surrounding area. Paul and Alan are the most perfect hosts and the stay was more like being guests at a friends house than a B&B, except when it came to settling the account of course. But, as the saying goes “you get what you pay for” and in our opinion this stay was worth every penny. We will repeat our experience with this perfect couple again very soon.

Saltcote Place was the best B&B we have ever stayed at, the house and grounds are magnificent. Paul and Alan were superb hosts and the breakfast quality and presentation was second to none (Thanks Alan). The ‘Nightcap’ in the evening was very welcome and much appreciated. The Royal Military Suite was beautiful with an external staircase allowing us to come and go as we pleased. The location of the property was ideal with a short walk to Rye town. When visiting Rye again, Saltcote Place would be at the top of the list. Best wishes to Paul and Alan for the future.

Outstanding In Every Way From start to finish our stay was truly exceptional. We felt very privileged to stay in such a magnificent home!! Everything was truly 1st class, from the beautiful suite we stayed in, the incredible breakfast washed down with bubbly (how decadent) and two of the most generous, warm, interesting and welcoming couple you could ever meet. I left feeling genuinely sad leaving them, and a little in love!!!!!! Stay here if you can, the experience is second to none!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!
