Quick out of town stay for a celebration of life
Really a pristine place! Jim and Russell were great, food was wonderful and the vibe was easy. We would go back again with no hesitation

Small town treasure!
Pre Civil War house near downtown . Several restaurants within walking distance. Lovingly cared for home with beautiful flowers.
Outstanding breakfast !
Charming hosts who gave excellent advice on biking, dining, etc.

Happy Travelers
Russell and Jim are incredible! Their attention to detail is visible everywhere. Jim accommodated our vegan requests with great culinary skill. Our room was comfortable, and obviously extremely well maintained. We look forward to returning, as we felt as though we were visiting with family. We were there to enjoy the Earl Scruggs Music Festival and were delighted to see the lights on when we arrived home some nights after midnight!

As a long-time traveler, you are in a long quest to find the place that beckons you back to a home like feeling, or the one that provides you that special attention to detail you achieve only in the luxury of a five-star hotel. Jim and Rusell have achieved this excellence in their superior hosting at the Carrier Houses Bed and Breakfast. Not only their well establish ability to welcome you into their historic homes, but to think of every detail even during a time of crisis. Astounding! We were part of a Garden Group that had occupied the majority of their B&B for the weekend. Not just any weekend though. The past weekend when through the area past Hurricane Helene with such vengeance and force that not even the strong hearted had to have a feeling of fear about their fate. Within a short time of our visit, we lost electric and any connections to the outside world. J & R lite the houses up with candles and lightening (for the entire stay-day and night), served us meals fresh off the outside grill, made sure that our every need was addressed, all the while worrying about the safety of their own family and friends (which they barely ever mentioned) in the outside world. You cannot find that kind of attention to detail, passion and attention to comfort. Though we had each stayed at this B&B on a previous occasion, we all walked away from our weekend visit feeling cared for and loved by strangers who are the true definition of outstanding Innkeepers. Thank you from our hearts your Daylily friends and now family.,

Just plain excellent, start to finish. accommodations were clean and comfortable, both nights. Breakfast for 2 mornings was just gourmet; so very good and served in a beautiful setting. I have never been to Rutherfordton, will stay here again upon my return. Jim and Russell really care about their place and it shows.
