Hananui Lodge and Apartments

Booking and communication beforehand was great, check in was smooth, the complex was not full so we were a bit disappointed in our room allocation not being the waterfront side, we would have paid extra but instead were allocated at the back facing the graveyard. The property is split by a road between the waterfront side of the property and the non-waterfront side of the property with the carpark. Room was clean, quiet, large and very comfortable, during the night there was a Tsunami alarm alert at 2am which was worrying but luckily turned out just to be a test.

Had a fantastic stay in unit 5 waterfront apartment, check in was super smooth and the apartment was was a nice space for us. Loved how close it was to the water with the view changing regularly with boats coming in and out. The kitchenette was well equipped with every thing you would need for a few days away should you choose to prepare any food. Super clean and tidy and well maintained property, worth the extra for the lovely sea view.

Great little hotel on the waterfront in Russell. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable and the staff were very polite, chatty and engaging. Had everything needed for a short stay but could easily have stayed longer as the kitchen equipment was ample.

This is a very cute hotel in a charming town.. the location is great as it is right on the boardwalk and a short walk to the pier, restaurants and shops. The rooms facing the water have a gorgeous view but we had a room on the side so that was a bit disappointing. We had a small living room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, eating area and patio. Although we enjoyed our stay, I would recommend that the mattresses get replaced as they were too soft (the pullout sofa was awful). In the summer, I would also recommend having two fans (one for the bedroom and one for the living room) . The housekeeping is much more complicated than it needs to be. When I am on vacation I don’t want to read several rules about housekeeping and then remember to submit lists to the office before it closes. I understand that there may not be the staff for full housekeeping so then just come around each day with fresh towels and top up any amenities that have been used.

Wonderful place to stay and the owners and staff are great and the service is fantastic They are happy to cater for any needs you may have We have booked in again for next year Definitely worth staying with this beautiful place and looking forward to some great fishing tournament

Very comfortable, clean accommodation within walking distance of all that Russell has to offer. Stayed 2 nights. The bedroom was quiet and very cosy. Lovely selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate, plus real milk, that is, not long-life that you get in most places
