La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Ruidoso Downs

Just passing through town. Great town to stop in for the night. Lots of restaurants and things to do and see. The hotel was average, nothing special. Everything was just OK, including the room, breakfast and staff. The convenience store was out of everything.... Bathroom needed some repair work, shower rod needed replacement, bathroom floor grout was cracked or missing and the room thermostat didn't work. The bath towels felt like sandpaper......

Lobby was hot no ac, room had a funky smell to it, restroom sink was cracked, restroom faucet handle was loose and hard to control hot and cold water, toilet did not flush properly, linens had a yellow stain on them, shower looked dirty, the tile in the riom was broken and loose ( risk of cutting your feet ) , trash behind the night stands and bed , 90% of all electrical sockets did not work , and the ines that did where very loose did nit even hild my phone charger,

I don’t think it’s the staffs fault but they could have let the guests know - there were a couple of kids running down the hall which I think it’s the parents but staff could have said something to them. Otherwise everything was great - the room was clean, and staff at front desk was friendly and efficient.

The hotel is well maintained, clean, cozy. Beds are comfy. The indoor pool provided comfortable water temperature (warm), even when the weather outside was in the 30's and snowing (in April!!). The staff is friendly, kind, and helpful. However, in-room water pressure dropped/fell frequently, during all of our stay, making showering somewhat difficult, awkward. And the room A/C control was "tricked-out" so that you're not able to select a 'continuous fan' mode, only "Auto Fan" (I suppose most hotels do this for energy-saving purposes).
