Lovely staff all around. The food was great, my room was cleaned beautifully and was well equipped with everything that I needed. Would recommend!

Bad nights sleep The welcome was fine, and the room initially looked ok, but the emergency light was so bright that I could read a book with all the lights turned off, and someone had propped open the window with a wooden block, outside the window was an industrial fan. This made sleeping very difficult. Then when I went down for breakfast there was no one available, once I had been seated there was a 20 minute wait. At no point did anyone ask me how the room was or how my stay was. It seems like this would have been a great place to stay a few years ago, but now it is a bit tired and not very well run.

It's alright It was alright, I was a little disappointed that our bags were left in the open reception area, when they could maybe have been taken to the room, we had advised the hotel that we were at a wedding and that we wouldn't be able to check in until late. The bar was shut, which was also disappointing, but fine. The fire alarm went off at 6am and no one apologised for that which wasn't great. The rooms are nice but probably need refreshing. It was just okay, I think I was personally disappointed given the price.

Dined here several times over the years and in all honesty, last Sunday was most likely the best, it was truly excellent, clearly standards in service have improved significantly, Carol and Lisa were outstanding, nothing too much trouble, Carol even went to find the ingredients into the Cauliflower Cheese from the Kitchen. Lisa again. returned with drinks order very quickly and both had a non-stop smile on their faces, clearly enjoying their work. The food was amazing, starters of Scotch Egg and Calamari, very nice and the Duck was cooked to perfection and plates hot. All made for an excellent experience and i would highly recommend the Banyers for an intimate dining experience, just make sure you take the right woman with you, unfortunately on this occasion i failed ! (cant have it all i hear you say !!)

Recommended Convenient. Actually good room standards although the last room I had was not up to usual standard...heating poor (mid Jan, expected better) Breakfast very good ! Bar prices are high for the area. Good parking. I prefer to stay here when in Royston.

Lovely looking room but the bathroom was dirty on arrival with clumps of hair and dirt. Lots of mold around the bottom of the shower as well which has been left for a long time. The room needed a good hoover as well and could do with a more modern TV as well as a small mini fridge. Room 7 also suffered badly from noise pollution, room directly above seemed to produce so much noise and we were also woken quite early by the beer delivery which was right outside the window. That combined with the slamming of doors outside the room really didn’t provide us with the best sleep possible. Room itself is stunning, breakfast included was lovely and the staff were ever so polite. Overall I don’t think I’d stay here again unless some improvements were made.
