The location is very convenient, on the Pantiles. The room here was a bit awkward and cramped but this is to be expected in the location. It is quite noisy - our room was over The Pantiles and we could hear people late into the night hanging out on the pedestrian zone, and staff from the hotel. The veggie breakfast was okay but a bit overpriced and unusually oily.

Made a mistake of staying there on a Thursday night. There was really loud live music outside. I was shattered from work and wanted an early night but was forced to go out and return after it had finished. The staff were understanding but there was nothing they could do about it. Avoid.

We stayed one night here as we where going to Tybers Reggae Bar. Staff where so friendly and easy going was lovely to chat and laugh with them, especially the lovely young lady that brought us up an ironing board and iron we had to laugh when she realised she took it to wrong room . We ate in the evening a fabulous meal I had the ravioli filled with Devon crab it was so tasty. We had a good nights sleep comfortable bed . Coffee machine in room was great for me. Breakfast again was lovely. The only thing we would do next time we stay is ask for a room that's not on the top floor. No lift . Otherwise couldn't fault this lovely hotel and brilliant staff.

I came to the Tunbridge Wells Hotel for the second time recently. I had previously decided not to return after a horrible experience with rude staff, incorrect orders and a waitress putting ice in a water jug with her bare hands. However I was forced to give it another go as a works party was here. I can’t say I was anymore impressed though. The food was okay. A little dry maybe but to be honest I watched my food get put down in front of two other people and be paraded round the entire patio before it made it to me so maybe it’s understandable after having such a journey and being breathed on by every other customer. I ordered my food at the same time as my partner however his sandwich didn’t arrive until half an hour later. 15 minutes after mine arrived and we had been desperately trying to get someone’s attention but everyone seemed to be avoiding eye contact my partner went up and queried it. A waiter then told him it would be 2 minutes. 10 minutes later I had finished my food and still no sandwich had arrived when the waiter came over to explain that the sandwich had been made incorrectly twice which is why it hadn’t arrived yet. I don’t know how that happens but I do understand mistakes happen. It would have reflected a lot better on staff had this been explained to us earlier or we had not felt like all staff were trying to avoid the situation. The sandwich situation was poorly handled and when the sandwich arrived it was okay at best. The table service also really fell short. The table was covered in glasses to the point where there wasn’t enough room to put plates down. We were a large party so I understand that there was bound to be a lot of glasses but would’ve been nice to clear some. When they were finally cleared the waitress tipped left over drinks into one of the party’s handbag and then a few minutes later into someone else’s. They also stopped taking orders at the table after a few rounds and in general we felt very ignored by staff. I can’t say the staff were rude, they were very polite when we could get hold of them but they just seemed to be avoiding our table at all costs. All in all I am disappointed to have had two bad experiences here. I’d like to say I’d never come back but unfortunately my works Christmas party is booked here. My hopes aren’t high!

We had half a gazpacho served in a mug between two people and a small meze plate to share between 4 of us. We actually had to drink half the gazpacho and then pass the cup to the person next to us. The main course was small, cooked well but very small I had three strips of red pepper, half a yellow courgette and a small piece of cod - it needed a little bit more. My husband was served a fantastic rib of beef but there was no chimichurra which meant the dish was bland. I opted for marsala peaches for dessert, it was tough and dry. We were there for hours because the service was so slow. I only had 2 drinks the whole evening, would have liked more but gave up asking. Would have liked a coffee but wasn't asked.

Lovely lunch outside in the Pantiles on a warm summer afternoon. We ordered the Korean Burger and Fish Sandwich, absolutely delicious. Service a bit slow but it was a very busy Saturday. Hotel bar and lounge very elegant place to chill out, we will be back.

An unexpected delay meant we needed a hotel in Tunbridge Wells at short notice. Husband booked this hotel after a quick scroll online to find a room. If only there had been time for more research! At £130 for a standard double room with no breakfast, and £10 for parking, it wasn’t a budget price. The approach from the suggested car park is worrying - the hotel looks very run down. The restaurant and bar downstairs looked OK but the minute we climbed the (many!) stairs to the room our hearts sank. The room was small and dingy with a view of the scaffolding on the next building. The sash window was ill fitting and allowed us to hear traffic noise and revellers all night long. The room was mostly clean though the table pedestal was thick with dust and the vacuum cleaner obviously does not reach right into the corners. For balance (I must sound very grumpy!) the bathroom was very clean indeed. Personally I don’t like shower curtains especially when they are stained at the bottom as in this case, but I appreciate they match the style of the room. A coffee machine in the room was a nice addition but should you want more than two cups of coffee per person you will be charged £2 for each extra capsule. We did not eat in the hotel so cannot comment on the food. Tellingly it was the only bar and restaurant on The Pantiles that was not packed on the evening we stayed. Would we return? Absolutely not.

I booked a single room mid-week for an overnight stay on business. I was given the single room at the top of the hotel, which is the width of a small single bed and the door entrance. No desk or dresser, only surface to put stuff was a amall bedside table, undervthe tv, which just about fitted the phone. The bathroom was little more than an alcove at the end of the bed (no door) with a loo and shower, no soap provided and I couldn't tunaround in the shower. The mug and spoon provided for tea was stained and grubby, and felt unhygienic, toe nails left on the floor. My only positive comment is that on asking for a full refund, they didn't quibble. Colleagues staying in other rooms said lumpy beds and hot rooms - no one got any sleep. I moved hotels and spent a delightful evening at the Spa Hotel up the road.

Hotel bien situado.
