Fantastic. First room was damp and they moved me so I had no asthma issues. Great sleep perfect for travelling away with work.......................................................... .......... ...............................

For those who are happy to have a location slightly away from town and walk to all amenities (a lovely walk over the common to the town centre) the location is great. Payment is required for parking however this is not expensive for hotel guests and is convenient.

If you are expecting to stay in the usual modern Travelodge- this one is anything but. Apparently built in 1873 as a terrace of 8 houses, and converted into a hotel in 1876. The rooms are massive with high ceilings, the bathrooms much the same. However I found it to be very comfortable and well up to Travelodge usual standards. Don’t expect the maintenance to be totally up to scratch though as due to its age, it needs a lot of TLC, the floors and stairs have the unique ‘creak’ as you walk about. There is a lift available. However, everything worked and the room was clean. Would recommend for the odd night as other hotels are a good £50 more a night in this area. I found the staff very helpful and the bar welcoming after my night out. I didn’t have the breakfast but again reasonable value. If you want to park your car it's hit and Miss for a space here, which is a reasonable £5 for 24 hours. All in all a nice stay. Would I use this again, yes I would.

Due to personal reasons, I wasn't keen on the room I was allocated. The Assistant Manager was super and organised an alternate room without any fuss or questions asked. Great customer service! The breakfasts are fantastic too with plenty of choice and excellent quality.

I have stayed in many Travelodges and here the staff are notably very helpful and friendly who take all your needs into consideration. Very clean with baths in most rooms. I'm a regular visitor and I have always had a comfortable stay. Highly recommendable.

They didn’t have many options food wise. Bathroom was filthy, there was black dots all over the place, a dead spider looked like the bath hadn’t been cleaned in a while and soap up the bath, again looks like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. The room was boiling because we couldn’t turn off the radiator and I heard it ticking all night which was annoying and I couldn’t sleep. Over all it wasn’t the worst but it also wasn’t the best. It’s a very old building and the floors creak allot when you walk on them, staff was friendly but still a poor review from me. Probably would choose another hotel next time

This Travelodge is an old hotel and is very run down with cracked roof lights, plants growing out of cracked masonry, a noisy lift and sash windows which are cold. The staff were welcoming and helpful, but the room had peeling wallpaper and a bathroom from the 60s. The cleaners had left the window open so the room was very cold and the old fashioned radiators struggled to warm the room. Very surprising for a Travelodge.
