The hotel's location is very central, and the front desk staff were very polite and helpful. When we tipped the housekeeping staff, they were incredibly enthusiastic and even left a thank-you note. However, on the first day, when we forgot to leave a tip, they surprisingly didn't even replenish the bottled water.

It was Mardi Gras week and the hotel was super busy. Pool was great though it’s a little small. Location was fantastic, right smack on bourbon street. They do lack basic amenities like in-room complimentary bottled water for a four star hotel. Desire restaurant has got great food and especially the oysters. 

They are also a dog friendly hotel, but pet toilet was artificial grass / green carpet located at the basement carpark, which wasn’t very convenient and it smells bad.

My entire stay was first class. The location is central and close to major venues in downtown. The lobby and common spaces were very clean. The gym and pool were amazing, clean, and top tier. My room was spacious, clean, and quiet. I would definitely return to the Stephen F Austin Royal Sonesta.
