I had recently stayed at the Premier Inn Eltham for 3 nights with my husband and 5 year old. Positives We had booked a family room and based on previous family rooms at other premier inns, room 118 was very spacious. Air con was a bonus as we couldn't open the windows. Location was ideal with access to lots of bus routes and a train station. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice. Negatives A maned reception desk is a need. For a week previous to my stay, I could not get ahold of anyone at Premier Inn Eltham. Didn't matter the day or time I rang at, it would just ring out. On arrival to the hotel, we were made to stand there for a good 10mins before anyone came out to look after us. When I mentioned to the man on reception about the lack of answering my phone calls he shrugged his shoulders and mentioned something along the lines of "what do you expect of a budget hotel" not exactly the right attitude to have in my opinion. Room 118 is spacious but it had a musty smell to it. One I couldn't put my finger on. You'd notice it after being away from the room, once in the room, you almost became nose blind to it. There was also mould in the bathroom which could easily be wiped away and/or painted over. This point isn't the hotels fault and we didn't suffer it on the Thursday night but the Friday and Saturday, the room above sounded like it had a herd of elephants in it. The stomping and thundering feet above us was very annoying and continued throughout the night. The outside of the hotel leaves a lot to be desired also. Not very welcoming. Maybe a lick of paint, some tidying up of foliage, a sweep of the steps and ramp access would be of a benefit here. All in all, I would return but would like to see some changes and tweaks made.
