Lovely small hotel with large, attractive and comfortable rooms which has held on to much of its French colonial style. The pool and lounge areas beside it were lovely. Limited but good breakfast options. The staff were friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

If you enjoy heritage hotels, I think you can safely ignore some of La Villa's more negative reviews. I've stayed in lots of them and, despite a few quirks, this one is an excellent example of its kind. Room: we were bowled over by our Superior Double Room. It was huge, with high ceilings, colonial decor and scads of charm. The bed was spacious and comfortable, and there was ample storage space and electrical outlets. I easily forgave some of the less desirable features: Wi-Fi was slow at times, the door key could be hard to navigate and the claw foot bathtub was awkward to shower in. Staff: every staff member we encountered was cheerful, professional and helpful, and someone was available at all times. As an English speaker, language was never a barrier. Food: the breakfast was fine, with a predictable but satisfying selection of Western and Asian options. The coffee could have been improved. Location: I really enjoyed the neighborhood, which was lively and offered a great selection of dining options, as well as the opportunity to walk along the riverside. Some reviews complain about noise from nearby bars: I heard the music but was never really bothered by it; I never even bothered to use my earplugs. In short, the place is old and scruffy and has a few quirks, but its old world charm and delightful staff more than compensate for them.

Out of all the places I have stayed in the world, this is my absolute favorite. It is absolutely stunning. I fell in love with the beautiful architecture. The rooms are magnificent. The pool area is so beautiful and relaxing. The food is divine, and the service staff are truly magnificent. There is history all around you, you can spend hours looking at the architecture and artwork on the walls. Nothing is too difficult for the staff and the location in Battambang is perfect. It is a lovely walk along the river across into the shopping precinct. It was such a sublime experience staying here.

The building is beautiful, a quaint house with a lot of timeless charm, makes you feel you’re back in the 1930s’. The staff is incredibly helpful and good-spirited and the swimming pool area is beautiful. Though it’s very conveniently located at a stone’s throw from the centre of the town, there is a very noisy area of bars next door, so prepare your earplugs if you want to go to bed early and sleep before midnight.

Belle maison, avec meubles et bibelots anciens mais chambre au 2ème étage vieillotte, électricité ancienne, porte vitrée aussi. Escalier très raide pour montée au 2ème avec une valise. Personnel très sympathique, bon petit déjeuner à la carte avec un excellent yaourt. Nous étions en période creuse donc le grand hôtel d'à côté devait être quasi vide donc pas trop de bruit. Situation idéale, proche du centre ville animé sans en avoir les désagréments, moins de 10 mn. Restaurants de rue juste sur l'autre rive du fleuve.

This was a little oasis in Battambang. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. We had a couple meals here as well as breakfast. Everything was delicious! The pool was refreshing after a day of sightseeing. The hotel can arrange transfers and tours for you.

We had such a lovely time at this beautiful colonial villa in Battambang. The villa is stunning, the rooms were massive and luxurious, we loved the history of the building and all the quirky details. The pool was an absolute dream after a hot day touring, we spent a lot of time soaking in there and enjoying the lush green grounds. The breakfast was a set menu with choices and was so delicious (omelettes were amazing). The staff were lovely and attentive. A great start to our two weeks in Cambodia.
