Overall, I was very satisfied. The accommodation was incredibly warm; in fact, on winter nights, it was almost too hot to sleep comfortably. It was well-equipped with kitchenware and bathroom essentials, perfect for preparing light meals. The only slight inconvenience was parking; there's a steep driveway, but it wasn't a significant problem. Its location on the main road made it very convenient for getting around. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. The owner is Chinese and was incredibly friendly and communicative.
Very clean, has everything you need. Wasn’t able to check in by 630pm, called them in advance to inform and arranged for a self check in. Emily was very kind, explained the steps over the phone, and texted again just as a reminder. Self check in was very easy and convenient. Instructions were attached with the key, documents were neatly placed in the room.
Only downside was it wasn’t very close to the supermarket/shops, probably about 15min walk, but it was raining so took us 20min. Driving would have been better.
Please note there’s no lift, so we had to carry our luggage to the 2nd floor.
Overall, would come back again, it was still a great stay!

I recently stayed at Arawa Park Hotel and had a pleasant experience overall. The location is excellent—close to Rotorua’s main attractions and surrounded by beautiful scenery.
The room was spacious, clean, and featured large, comfortable beds. Considering the affordable price, it’s excellent value for money and ideal for anyone looking for a comfortable, budget-friendly stay.
The staff were attentive and friendly, even offering to heat up meals for guests—a thoughtful touch that added convenience. I also appreciated their focus on security, as they took note of my car’s plate number during check-in.
I noticed that the hotel has washing machines and laundry facilities, which could be very useful for longer stays. While I didn’t ask if these are free for guests to use, it’s great to see such amenities available. Clearer information about their usage would be helpful.
One downside was the lack of adaptors in the room, which made charging devices a little inconvenient. Adding adaptors or universal outlets would greatly improve the overall experience for guests.
Overall, Arawa Park Hotel is an excellent choice for a comfortable and affordable stay in Rotorua. With minor tweaks like providing adaptors and clearer communication about amenities, it could be even better.
The room is very large and duplex. It can accommodate 6 people no problem. You can cook and take a hot spring bath. The car can be parked directly at the door of the house. Picking up things is convenient and free. There is a supermarket not far away. You can go to the supermarket first when you arrive at the hotel and chat in the evening. It's very pleasant to chat while drinking. You can stop and have a rest when passing through the iron town on the way. Ice cream is recommended, but only cash is accepted.
Very nice and confortable place well located in Rotorua. All perfect large room and bed with full equiped kitchen, bathroom with spa was so relaxing. Location is 2 min by car to Downtown. Also quiet place . Parking free and nice staff . I really recommand this motel for your stay in Rotorua.
Easy check in, clean room, comfortable bed, nice bedding. Shower was hard to use easy to get burnt but sorted that really quick. Definitely staying again.
I was really pleasantly surprised when I stayed at Distinction Hotel this time!
Originally I only booked an ordinary superior room, but we arrived early. The front desk said that the room was still being cleaned, so they were very considerate and upgraded us to Deluxe Twin Room for free! I really didn't expect it~ and the staff were super polite throughout the whole process, which made me feel very warm.
The room was bigger than I thought, with two large beds that were soft and comfortable, a desk and two comfortable blue sofa chairs, which were very convenient whether I was sitting and browsing my phone, drinking coffee or packing my luggage.
The whole check-in process was very smooth, and the service was also very good. It felt like a hotel that ”cares about the guest experience very well”, and the details were arranged very considerately. I didn't expect that an ordinary check-in would become such a happy experience~

LLilianaVery handy location to town centre. I wouldn't call it 4 star accommodation but it was clean and comfortable.
FFanieA very nice motel, close to all that Rotorua has to offer. The unit was spacious and well-equipped with everything needed to cook your own meals. BBQ facilities offered, which we used every evening. The heated swimming pool is also a plus - it was like having a hot tub under the stars!
SSwC_TWThe kitchen has many facilities but is poorly maintained. The oven and microwave cannot be used.
It's a short walk to the supermarket or park, and of course driving is not a problem.
There is also some black debris in the bathtub, which affects the willingness to use it.
QQyimThe front desk staff is very friendly. The hotel is close to the food court, and there are large supermarkets and household goods stores nearby, which is very convenient. The room is spacious.
The shower head in the bathroom has strong water flow and the service is generally satisfactory.
The downside is that the room has no air conditioning, only a fan, and the wall lights did not work properly.
