The Bayview Hotel

Second time visiting Bayview. Always feels like home from home. Special shout out goes to Myra who was super friendly and provided excellent service. Breakfast was lovely. Room was spacious, friendly staff, toiletries provided were Rituals which was lovely and a nice touch! Will be returning soon

Close to Bushmills Distillery, Giants Causeway, overlooking the bay at Portballintrae, this is a popular stop over. We had a sea view room on the second floor, looking over to the little harbour. Good evening meal in the restaurant which overlooks the bay. Busy but not overcrowded there’s a nice atmosphere about the place. Limited amount of off street parking at the rear, with other options nearby.

Our overnight stay in the Bayview could not have better. All the details were perfect, food in the dining toom as good as we have eaten anywhere. The setting with seaviews and in a quiet village is great and so are the staff. All in all, as good a place as we have ever stayed.

We booked this hotel for the location and the ocean view, and it turned out to be a great stop along the Causeway Coast. There was some type of event going on the night we were there, so it was quite crowded at the restaurant and bar and extremely noisy outside our window until about 1 am. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this may not be the place. If you want a lively hotel bar scene in the evening this will fit the bill. Perhaps our experience was unique; I assume this hotel is much busier in the summer months. Lots of pros - plenty of free parking, decent dinner at the restaurant, large room with comfy beds, modern bathroom, good breakfast, great ocean view. Minimal cons - no air conditioning (the norm in Ireland), had to leave the window open to a large crowd partying outside, felt rushed through dinner by wait staff (but they were very busy). I would probably book here again if we were to return in shoulder season; might avoid in June-July-August.

Live music was great . Bar staff hardworking and friendly,especially Clodagh (thank you ) The guy who runs the bar "Seamus "stood us a drink (appreciated ...thank you ) Friendly locals😊 Food seems to be popular at lunchtimes especially but we did not eat on this occasion.

We brought our elderly friend back to the island to reminisce and show us where he was brought up. This was a great wee place to go back to and relax after a long day. We where very fortunate to get room 5 with is the front room with its own sitting area and a beautiful view both in the morning and night. The room was clean and tidy The breakfast was very nice and set us up for the day. There was only one downside, the stairs to room 5 where a killer(view made up for it)

This is one of the best small Hotels I have ever stayed in. Location is excellent - 5-10 mins walk from the town centre and with stunning views of the sea and the ferries sailing past yet so quiet and peaceful. Irene greeted me on arrival and explained to me how things work. Her and Andrew were extremely attentive and have thought of just about everything. I stayed for two nights in a lovely clean cosy single room with gorgeous sea views. The breakfast was amazing. Nice touches were toiletries, a robe and hair straighteners. I am already planning my next trip to Rothesay and can't wait to book into the Bayview again.
