Globales Costa de la Calma

We arrived at past midnight to meet an elderly receptionist who refused to let my 7yr old stay. For almost an hour we were stuck at reception. Tired and now stressed. They then insisted on holding my daughter’s passport ( as though we would pay to stay in a hotel for four nights and run away after one night). That act alone was INSULTING!. First thing in the morning they kept calling to ask for an extra €48 to let my kid stay. Please note that on the trip.com site it says kids under 12 stay for free and the room was large enough for two adults and a child. There was a sofa bed. Clearly this €48 was more important to them than courtesy. There were better ways to handle this. The money was paid by me. I was very very displeased.

Reasonable location. Short walk to bars and restaurants and a lightly longer walk (20 mins) to other bars such as Dubliner (which I would recommend to couples and groups). Not a lot of sunbeds which would likely be an issue in the summer but ok in May. There own website says no towels in room but there was. Safe expensive (over 50 euros for a 4 night stay). Rooms clean and had all you’d expect. Staff friendly. Pool bar food was good. Reasonably priced as were the drinks.

We have just returned from our stay at Costa De La Calma. We booked directly through Globales as was told this was the best option instead of third parties. When booking we wasn't given the option to select seats and when the flights came through I was given the wrong pronouns so I had to contact the airline directly to have this changed even though it was correct on my end. They also didn't allow priority booking which meant it cost me an extra £120 for luggage and £440 for seats due to having to complete afterwards. I emailed to discuss this and put it nicely they didn't give a toss. When we arrived the hotel looked lovely and the same as images, the lady on the desk was not very welcoming and seemed quite moody and as if she hated her job. The gentlemen that where on the reception after this where great and lovely to chat with. You are charged a very high price for the safe so take this into consideration. Our balcony door did not lock at all when we arrived to the room but after the reception we had by the host we chose not to say anything as she was not very nice so we just used to secondary lock of the metal hook and hoped for the best. The hotel itself is lovely, was nice and clean and our apartment was lovely. Got a lot busier and louder in terms of groups of party goers towards the weekend so if you are a family bear this in mind. Overall great hotel, female receptionist is not very nice and I would very very highly recommend to not book any packages through Globales as they do not offer everything and also don't gave when issues arrive. I would book hotel and flight separately but lesson learnt. I am still not impressed with the lack of communication on my complaint before arriving as they began to ignore my emails. Value for money? Yes Nice? Yes Would I book again? No due to other factors and lack of service from host/company
