Holiday Inn Atlanta/Roswell

Horrible customer service! Dan was on front desk - very rude. Reservation made using points and cash - was told by IHG on two occasions that it was okay if card member was not present at check-in. She put my name down as person Checking in. When I arrived, I was told by Dan that the hotel’s policy was the member had to be present at check-in. He had texted the member that info two days before I checked in. Since you can’t contact hotel, I called IHG and they told me again it was okay for me to check-in, without member present. Dan cancelled my reservation. My granddaughter and her husband (from MI) were with me - he asked Dan some questions in a business like manner. After some dialogue trying to make sense of this, Dan said he contacted his manager who said that was their policy. (I don’t think he called anyone!). Since I had travelled a distance for a granddaughter’s graduation and wanted to stay near her home, I gave Dan my ID, IHG card and credit card and told him I would just pay without points. HE REFUSED TO GIVE ME A ROOM! My granddaughter’s husband offered his card to book a room for himself and wife and Dan REFUSED them a room. At no time were we obnoxious, yelling, threatening - we simply were asking Dan why he would not give either of us a room. I commented that I would be reporting this and would never stay at Holiday Inn again. The three of us left and I checked in at another hotel. We deserved a reason. Makes me wonder if it was age discrimination (I am 77) or because family is from the north. If your business is hospitality you don’t turn guests away, especially with no cause or an explanation - could’ve said no rooms were available. Wasn’t like we came in drunk, half clothed, acting like partiers - we are professionals and present that way. There are plenty of hotels in area - stay away from this one! In actually would rate it below zero!

Very convenient to stay when visiting friends in the area. Hotel is clean and well maintained. The staff is helpful

Staff was nice and accommodating. Area around the property is dubious. Homeless people attempt to invade the property when a guest leaves the building.

Good hotel for work; klunky TV This hotel is clean and quiet and located close to my client's offices and restaurants. Thus it serves its purpose well. If I complained it would be about the TV. 1) There's no guide (on paper or on the TV) so you don't know where the channels you want to watch are without scrolling thru one at a time. and 2) scrolling is slow - takes 3-5 seconds per channel and when you get to the channel there's no id of the channel until it goes live and if on a commercial (most common) you have to wait for the program to start. very klunky in today's world of tech.
