A beautiful hotel with a wonderful beach. We had a room on the second floor. The room was extremely warm and uncomfortable. The staff provided us 2 small oscillating fans that helped a bit but not enough. This hotel is in need of a rennovation as it is showing its age. The staff was attentive and helpful. There are no other restaurants nearby without driving at least 15- 20 minutes or more. We ate at the hotel restaurant both nights we were there - it wasn't great and it wasn't terrible. Just so so. If you're looking for a quiet place that is away from the hustle and bustle then this is your place. If you want something that has more to offer and perhaps walkable areas then this isn't for you.

Another great stay at the Sandhouse. We stayed 4 nights with our older teens. Rooms are a great size and everyone was happy sharing. Food and service were amazing, The staff and so welcoming and helpful. We ate even night at the restaurant. The hotel is well located for all the surf schools, walking and swimming on the beach.

Beautiful settings, fantastic weather for the few days we were there, majority of the staff were fantastic and couldn't be more helpful, unfortunately the front desk let it down. Hotel lift was broken on the days that we were there and our room was on third floor, no apology for this and no attempt to get it sorted until midweek, seen people struggling to get up the stairs as well as myself, would not return because of this and at a cost of €500 we were so disappointed

The location of the hotel is right on the beach. Our room had a sea view which was amazing! The hotel is quite traditional in its furnishings, with carpet throughout giving it a warming welcome which made it so cosey. Lots of areas with incredibly comfy sofas to relax and have afternoon tea, read and chat, making you feel right at home. The bar areas are broken up which was tailored to suit the busier side or the quieter areas with more sofas. Breakfast was table service which was very impressive as opposed to most with buffet style, and it was very tasty with a selection of fruits/juices/fry up or pancakes. Breakfast with a view too! The staff throughout are very friendly, accommodating and extremely polite. If you're looking for a place to unwind in comfort and enjoy a bit of classic charm by the sea, I would definitely recommend this hotel. I'm really looking forward to my next visit !

Arrived Fri May 23rd for 2 nights, intercom to gain entry lovely welcome by reception. I absolutely love the big comfy couchs beside reception and throughout the hotel this is total relaxation beside the sea....Real.old world hotel but such a home away from home. Room was very spacious with views overlooking the ocean..great big comfy bed, big bathroom with both bath and shower. Beautiful food in the restaurant also with views overlooking the sea and next morning breakfast is served rather than buffet. I love this hotel already and will dedinetly be back..I feel you can come here anytime as even if the weather is crap like this weekend we still had walks on the beach and very cosy to look out at the wind and rain.Home tomorrow(sad face)but will be back

The location is unbeatable as far as beach proximity, views and sunsets. Really spectacular. But there are no other dining options other than the hotel and they stop serving at 8pm ( at least on a Sunday). The room was fine, tired furniture but good enough. We had a room with an alcove to watch the sunset but one of the windows was punctured obscuring the view for one of us! The food was mediocre ( we had dinner one night and breakfast both mornings) and service was patchy. There’s a bar with outdoor space overlooking the beach and a deck on the second floor with sunset views. Really nice both of them. If you’re looking to be right on the beach and looking to catch sunsets over the Atlantic, this is the place! If you’re looking for an excellent dining experience, then this not the place!
