Fort Young Hotel

This is our second trip to Dominica. The island is the Nature Island and it doesn’t disappoint. The Fort Young Hotel is very well run. Everyone was very friendly. I will say dealing with them via phone or email can be awkward but face to face is fantastic. Any little issue is resolved quickly, and those were few. We did not sign up for the all inclusive as we wanted to try places in town but did have breakfast included. It’s buffet, a bit repetitive but the quality was good and a friendly staff. Exchange rate within the resort was good so we never bothered to convert US to EC. We were scuba diving and the team at the on-site dive shop were some of the best I’ve ever dived with. I’m a dive instructor with dives around the world in some of the best places available as well as throughout the Caribbean. The staff were always helpful and safety conscious while keeping things light and fun. They have great rental gear that my wife used some of. The reefs are in fantastic shape, probably the best in the Caribbean at this time. Enormous barrel sponges, turtles, eels, lobsters, crabs and plenty of reef fish. The shop has two dive boats, one a typical dive boat for maybe 10 divers. We used their other boat that hold 32 divers. We had a total of 18 divers and had plenty of room. Towels are provided as well as fruit bowls between dives. Two camera tanks and spray hoses for spraying yourself down if you like. Air or Nitrox is available. They have at least 2 DMs in the water and sometimes 3 or 4. We will be going back, it’s that good.

Spent 3 nights at the resort for my birthday and I had a wonderful time, I love this place, the staff were very friendly, I would recommend this place to anyone.

Very nice hotel located in the heart of Roseau. The food, service and cleanliness of the hotel was very good. The staff are extremely courteous and the hotel has many amenities to ensure that your stay is comfortable.

Very good and nice and clean hôtel...very charmant WE rent thé oceanfront room 203 and my wife and i was very happy...the baby girl enjoy her time here for our 1 st wedding anniversary. THE CONCIERGERIE IS top with Jerren very professional woman. The room with the taxi to the boat was AT the Price of 553 us dollars. WE enjoy the lunch and breakfast AT the restaurant Palissade but not the dîner AT 9pm it was a waste of money...nothing to eat for 90 us dollars because thé restaurant close AT 9pm15 why they accept us ? To put us in umcomfortable situation the night of our wedding anniversary dinner. But WE reccommand the place.

We stayed for 7 days and got in all 10 scuba dives despite a 2 day tropical storm. Big THANKS to the dive shop for being flexible. The natural beauty of this island is unrivaled relative to many other Caribbean islands I have visited. Great staff. Gorgeous views from the suites. Great darkening shades in the room. "Kitchenette" was lean and offered little more than a larger minifrig, a microwave, coffee maker and very scant dishes / table ware. Food in the main restaurant was relatively expensive and mediocre.
