"I had an absolutely wonderful stay at PARKROYAL Penang! From the moment we arrived, everything was smooth and welcoming. The service was excellent, and the entire team—from the front desk to housekeeping was professional, warm, and attentive. I surprised my husband with a birthday treat during our stay, and the hotel team made it extra special by sending the birthday surprise after we returned from the pool, which was such a thoughtful touch. My husband also planned to surprise me for our anniversary, and although the swan decoration on the bed was set up after we arrived, I truly appreciated the effort it was romantic and made the moment unforgettable. The dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious great variety, fresh ingredients, and beautifully presented. The dining experience at Cinnamon Restaurant was made even better by the warm hospitality from Nadia, Hidayah, and the entire team. Special thanks to Zeyati, our room service staff, for her kindness and attention to detail, and to the bellman who helped us with our bags so efficiently. A big shoutout to the two amazing crew members at the Kids Club (sorry forget their name but i have picture of them) they were so attentive and caring with the children. My kids absolutely loved them, and their warmth made a big difference in our stay. We truly appreciate their effort and energy! The room was clean and spacious, the facilities were top-notch, and the beach access was perfect for a relaxing getaway. The hospitality shown by the crew and team was beyond expectations. Everything was excellent, and I truly appreciate the care and attention from everyone at PARKROYAL Penang. We’ll definitely come back again! "I recently stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Penang, Batu Ferringhi, and honestly, I’ve never been so disappointed with a Hilton property. The room we were given was dusty and had plaster bagworms (household casebearers) almost everywhere; on the curtains, the ceiling, and even one crawling on the bed. When we called reception to report it, they offered to change our room but said they couldn’t give us the same setup (we needed two single beds since I was traveling with a friend). We then asked for housekeeping to at least clean the room. When the staff member arrived, even he was shocked by the number of insects and said he had never seen them before. He called the reception himself to report how serious the issue was. and only then did they suddenly manage to find a similar room available on another floor. Since it was already close to midnight, we agreed to move. Unfortunately, the new room was smaller, still dusty, and although there were fewer bagworms, we still saw some near the curtains. Overall, the whole experience left a bad impression. The location is good, and breakfast was excellent, but the cleanliness and response to the issue were unacceptable, especially for a Hilton brand. I truly hope the management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the pest and housekeeping issues because the potential of this hotel is there; but the current state doesn’t justify the price at all."

"The hotel is very luxurious, with a grand and spacious lobby, and excellent service. It's located right by the sea, and the swimming pool is fantastic – the kids absolutely loved it. Plus, it's super convenient for dining, coffee shops, and souvenir shopping nearby. Highly recommend! 👍"

"I had a delightful two-night stay at Shangri-La Penang! The lush greenery and big old trees provided lovely shade, creating a relaxing atmosphere while I sit near the pool or beach. The beach offered nice sunset view, but I am unsure if it’s swimmable We stayed in the Rasa Wing room, which came with lounge access and complimentary cocktails in the evening. The staff were warm and friendly, making us feel right at home. While the hotel shows some age, it’s clear they’re working hard to maintain everything. Overall, it was a wonderful getaway, and recommend 👍🏻 Our Rasa Garden room had some water flow / plumbing noises (from the ceiling), even when we are not using the bathroom. Not sure if it’s because of old age building / old building design."

"The apartment is nice and spacy and reasonably priced. Could stay there again. The check in procedure is quite complicated as the complex is run by a number of agents and individual owners. We eventually figured it out and the rest of the stay was good."

"The room has two bedrooms and one living room. The sofa in the living room can be used as a bed. It can accommodate up to 6 people. The landlord will inform you of the accommodation details by email, and you can call the housekeeper on the same day. She will arrange check-in and parking at the door, and take you to the room to introduce the details. A deposit of 100RM is required for each key and access card. You need to swipe the card to enter the building and enter and exit the beach. The security is very good. The room has complete tableware, and you can cook simple meals. There is also an oven. There is a washing machine, but no dryer. Summer clothes will dry in a short time. There are many hangers, and you should bring your own laundry detergent. There are no extra towels for the swimming pool and beach downstairs. The sand on the beach at the door is slightly rough. It will be finer and less crowded after passing the long embankment to the west. There are basically no shells to pick up on the beach. The night market along the street is very lively, and it is like an empty city during the day."
