"The room we had was nice, spacious and pretty. The bad thing was that the view was towards an ugly area on the outside. Unfortunately the location is not in a nice place or one that seems safe. The breakfast was basic."

"The hotel staff are very friendly and willing to help you with your problems! The buffet breakfast is diverse and of high quality! There are subway stations and bus stops nearby, so transportation is convenient, but the most unfortunate thing is that due to the carnival, the nearby subway station will be closed for 4 days! The wash basin in the room had no plug, and the twin room only had one thin towel and a mug! There is a problem with the TV antenna and I can't watch TV programs!"

"Overall a nice trip, and a pretty fancy hotel for the price. I would consider it more like a 4**** hotel than a 5 star, personally. highlights: - beautiful lobby and view from our room of the mountains, beach, etc. - kind people at the desk and otherwise. very safe inside even though neighborhood is a bit sketchy at times. - great bed, windows, bathtub, etc.. - affordable as an american for level of service. - spa and rooftop restaurant are amazing. gym is great too! dealbreakers: (may stop me from booking next time) - wifi was basically broken the entire time in our room, and in the hotel at times. less than 10mbits, and no signal in most of our room. front desk said several times they'd fix but I don't think they have the ability to actually fix it. many other people had this issue as well. at a 5* hotel, this should not be happening. major issue, had to do meetings in the lobby to get it to function at all. - breakfast is *good* but definitely caters towards a local brazilian diet (very few options for vegans). as a vegetarian, I'll just say I ate a lot of eggs and cheese. but hey, that's brazil so not digging on the hotel too much on that. - elevator is incredibly busy, and there were times where it literally said ”not available” and we had to wait 5 minutes to actually use it. - there are *TONS* of families with kids in and around the pool when we went. so environment was quite loud and crazy most of the time. they do timeshares so I think mostly big families frequent the hotel. - we booked and paid extra for the *Junior Suite* (with a large living room as well as bath). the front desk gave us the *room with bath* which ended up being nice.. but is half the size, and refused to put us in the junior suite room, even after showing the reservation. this may be a Trip.com issue instead of the hotel.. but they didn't offer any compensation or flexibility for us. trip did refund us the difference in price though. overall, its a great deal for the price, and the architecture is amazing, the room is nice, good water pressure. horrible wifi and very few vegetarian options made it difficult to recommend again, but we liked our stay nonetheless."

"Very friendly staff, nice hotel. I booked a suite for one night, the room was clean although it could use some refurbishing. One window didn't lock, so the noise from the street was constant. Located in a street with some stores, but not an area where you feel safe walking around. No toiletries included apart from s soap and shower gel/shampoo. Coffee machine in the bedroom with 2 coffee pods. I couldn't see a menu anywhere, assumed these were complimentary, as in most hotels where you rent a suite. I was surprised to be charged 1.5 USD per capsule on checkout, and that there was a QR code informing me of this in the room. I couldn't find it anywhere though. All in all, great staff, but there is definitely a much better price to service/location ratio than this hotel in Rio"

"The beautiful shelters, in addition to the good cleaning, the afternoon reception team are super performing, make you feel welcome.I don't remember the name of the afternoon receptionist with clear, super sympathetic hair. The breakfast team always very well performed and I loved the coffee, the second time I host super recommended . And I will come back soon ."

"The hotel staff is kind but it is difficult to find someone speaking English. The rooms are amazing, extremely large, and full of any comfort, but unfortunately, the location is quite penalising. It is in the Centro ( downtime), and this area is very dangerous, full of thieves, homeless, with the roads stincking. You are forced to stay in or move around only with Uber. Otherwise, you risk to be involved in an assault (”assalto”) and get you robbed ( pls wear down, take all your valued belongings in the safe, and use a very low quality phone for directions and photo if you don't want to take risk). Rio is not safe for the tourists in this area."

"El servicio, limpieza y ubicación estaba bien. Lo único el ático en la piscina es un poco viejo y el agua de la piscina algo turbia. También hacían obras en el ático (piso 11). Yo estaba en el 7 y se escuchaba horriblemente los martillazos (9-17hr). Desayuno muy bueno, personal muy amable y a caballo entre Ipanema y Copacabana. Yo iba solo y me sentí seguro. Como inconveniente, pagué el desayuno en todo el alojamiento. El último dia pedi que me empaquetaran un snack desayuno porque tenia una excursión muy temprana programada pero no lo hacian. Entiendo que es algo de cortesía pero hubieran ganado puntos por experiencia en otros hoteles si lo hacen. No obstante volveré sin duda! :)"

"Close to the pier, the surrounding area is relatively remote, there is no place to eat, it is the city center, it is more convenient to take a taxi to go anywhere, catch up with a Chinese sunset red tour group, quite lively."
