Hotel Lancelot

This was a great hotel! The location is perfect, so close to the colosseum and public transportation but nestled away on a quiet street. The room was large and had a nice view. The hotel was very nicely decorated. I’d recommend this to anyone!

First let’s start with the positives. The staff were all friendly, it had a lift and the room was spacious. Breakfast was minimal but sufficient to start the day. You may need to wait 15 minutes or so for a space to become available but that was okay too. The location is good being close to the Colosseum and there is a small patio on level 6 that provides a view. The room has air conditioning but it is not possible to adjust and it is way too hot for our liking so we turned it off. Not sure if we would have coped in the searing summer but as it is nearly winter it was acceptable. The room only had sheer curtains and it felt like the light was always on and made sleep disrupted. 2 paper cups were provided in the room and one packet of 3 tissues. The cups leaked if you left water in them and a glass would be more friendly to the environment. The hot water was luke warm at best and made having a shave uncomfortable. No kettle or anyway to heat water to have a shave or make a cup of tea. I picked this hotel and the good news is my wife will not allow me to pick another. Also we were unable to eat at the restaurant on either of our last two nights. They had a private luncheon on both days and this made it not possible to cater for guests for the 3 course set dinner menu.
