I originally made a booking via Trip.com for a room pay at hotel for free cancellation but then I found that there is a prepaid rate with breakfast room type at the same platform, so I cancelled the original booking and made a new booking for prepaid rate at a cheaper rate. Confirmation for cancellation all received by email and APP message without any penalty.
When I check in at 10pm, the front desk told me I am carrying 2 bookings and needs me to pay the cancellation fee for the 1st booking and claimed that they got 2 bookings 1 from Trio.com and 1 booking from ******* and both bookings are still active. I show him the confirmation from Trip.com app, but he insisted and asked his supervisor to talk to me, they insisted that they have 2 bookings in their system. Come on I cancelled at the platform and confirmed with free cancellation, from a guest standpoint I did not do anything wrong, why I need to bear the cancellation, so I am very angry and questioned the supervisor why this could happen and what’s next?. This manager seems concerned and he then changed his tone and said he is only trying to help.
If I am not insisted or other Asian guest, most likely they will forced me to pay off one more night penalty!!
Be careful for future cancellation from this hotel! It never happened in North America Holiday In. hotels but not in Paris!!
