Hatchway Hotel

I had a reservation from 11 Oct-14 Oct. Receive the confirmation from RCI and talked to the hotel days prior. We show up to the hotel and they did not have a room assigned to us. We were sent to a different hotel for the first night, later we were told we have to do our own arrangements for the second night, because there was nothing they can do. We ended up sleeping in the car before start driving back home the following day. A very awful and embarrassing experience. I don't believe this is the way they trait all their customers, but there is nothing we can do about it.

Rockland is a quaint little town. Archer's On The Pier is a great place to eat, great atmosphere. The downtown area has all kind of little shops to browse in. Hill's Seafood restaurant is another great place to eat! Midway between Acadia Natl. Pk. and Portland. All-in-all,.. we had a great time!!

I give this a three star but I am torn between a two and three. The staff was wonderful and the location was fabulous so close to everything as you are right off of main street and close to the harbor. We were able to go to so many towns and beautiful scenery, Rockland is the place to stay in visit in Maine.

Unit was as described and clean. Staff was exceptional! Pool hours are posted but as resort guests our key worked and we could access it any time. None of the meet and greet, bingo, crafts, social events are available but we don’t go on vacation for those things. Great location with lots to do in the area and close to many other activities. Nice “starter” basket of paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher pods…lasted us our entire stay. Highly recommend this place!

This is a great resort! It is convenient to Portland and to several places on the ocean where it is possible to book various boat tours. The staff are super helpful and friendly, and one of the staff members called me right away after I checked out to tell me that I left an item in my room; I was able to quickly retrieve it before leaving town.

The location is the selling point, but consider this like a nice extended stay hotel, close to everything you would want to do in Rockland, as well as a great base camp for the whole Maince coast

I would avoid this hotel. NOT affiliated with the time share units it is attached to. 'Ocean View' was of the construction material and discarded appliances outside. Inoperable sliding screen porch door with scotch taped screen, and gaps that bugs 'enjoyed'. Porch light shining in through the window all night with no blackout shades. Room 'surface clean' but floor was filthy. No closet or anything to hang clothes on. No place to put suitcases. Dirty hallways. Unwelcoming 'lobby'. Pluses: Remodeled bathroom, okay bed, room seemed to be newly painted, price....harbor park across from the parking lot, and Main Street around the corner. Not worth saving money and not a pleasant stay.

Wish I could give zero stars! I booked in March 2024 for an October wedding coming up. It was formerly called Trade Winds Inn, which was its name when I booked. I was emailed a few months ago that there was new ownership and renovations were happening, but that there was no further action on my end. Fine, no need for concern right? Wrong! I just got an email today that my booking was cancelled. Trouble is, I didn't cancel it, Hatchway did. To add insult to injury, they write "Advance purchase reservations are paid in full at time of booking and are non-refundable." I've called 5 times at this point and have not heard a thing. The hotel doesn't even have their voicemail set up. Cricks. To be determined if I will get my money back, but I will be sure to let every person I know about just how challenged, unprofessional, and shady this hotel is! Ownership, if you're actually listening, figure it out and give me my refund :)
