3 of us Went out one Friday evening to The Church restaurant At rockhill house for a birthday night out. We were VERY disappointed with the menu given to us - much smaller and not as good as the one shown on the website. BUT beware, as it’s a few miles out, if you change your mind, you’ve to get a taxi back into letterkenny and we couldn’t get a booking at the last minute . The food was okay, the wine list was poor and the outside area was nice but not a great view. It didn’t have much of an atmosphere either .

My partner and I booked a last minute break after a particularly hectic work week. We arrived to use the thermal spa, have afternoon tea, stay in a junior suite and eat at the Church. The Spa was amazing! We had the use of our own changing room with shower. The spa was very tranquil, filled with beautiful scent and the girls were so welcoming and helpful. We used the power pool, the sauna, the steam room, infra red room and hot tub. So relaxing we couldn’t string a word together afterwards! Check in at the hotel was smooth and the receptionist was very helpful and friendly. We stayed in room 6, a junior suite. The decor was perfection and it had the largest most beautiful bathroom I’ve ever been in. Very high ceilings and amazing wallpaper. The bathroom had a huge shower and gorgeous pink roll top bath tub. Our room had a beautiful view over the front garden. Afternoon tea was absolutely delicious, in beautiful surroundings. We had home made scones, and a stand each with sandwiches and sweet treats. Dinner at the Church was terrific, we both enjoyed superb meals and a bottle of terrific Rioja. Slept very well in the four poster and breakfast was impeccable - eggs Benedict cooked to perfection! All of this was just amazing. We will definitely be back. The staff I have to say are just great. Customer service as it should be and better. Thank you to all of you for making a much needed break the perfect antidote to busy lives.

From day one, it was clear this hotel lacks leadership and basic service. Rooms weren’t cleaned, towels weren’t replaced unless we asked daily, and the place was dusty from the start. The spa, though extra (which is fine), limits visits to 90 minutes, and charges more than double for extra time. Breakfast was a disaster, we waited over an hour after ordering. We didn’t return the next day. There’s no on-site restaurant. Food is served at The Church, a detached venue outside the hotel grounds. Lounge areas were unattended—no menus or staff. We had to chase someone down just to get drinks, which they brought from the outside restaurant. Only on night two did they finally get the bar working. The lift was broken—you couldn’t even select the first floor, so we carried luggage upstairs. Worst of all, our request to have a birthday dinner in the Old House was dismissed, even though staff said it could be done. We canceled the spa and afternoon tea and almost left after one night. This place may look the part, but the experience is nowhere near 5-star.

Had an incredible day at the Wellhouse Spa enjoying the meditation, salt scrub and pool topped by a wonderful facial. It was pure luxury! You feel so immersed in nature. All the staff were so lovely including Colleen who helped me book my visit with my mum for an early Mother’s Day. Afterwards we had afternoon tea in the big house which exceeded all expectations. The food was delicious and atmosphere was incredible. The seat were so comfortable and views picturesque. We met the owner of the house who was delightful and so friendly. The kindly offered us doggy bags to bring any extra food to home. We only wished we didn’t have to get home and had a chance to take advantage walking through the grounds of the estate. Will 100% be returning as soon as possible. Think Mammy will agree definitely the greatest Mother's Day present she’s received. Still cannot believe how affordable it all was! We are so lucky to have this in Donegal. They are hoping to start retreats and history walks soon which I cannot wait for!

Wow a mother daughter day in the well house spa followed by afternoon tea in the main house . A memory to treasure. The staff in the spa were friendly professional and helpful. We started our experience with a 20 minute meditation in the yurt ( this is new) and followed up with time in the pool, sauna. We finished with a Himalayan salt scrub and back to the sauna. I had the signature body massage- one of the best massages I ever had. Tanya my therapist was so professional and caring - she definitely has healing hands. 🙌 We followed up with afternoon tea in the main house. Once again the staff were so friendly and nothing was any bother. The selection of food was amazing and the house is beautiful. It isa credit to the owners how they have restored this house to its former glory. What a legacy😀 my daughter words it’s better than Bridgerton ! As my daughter flies off to Canada to start a new life journey this is a day and experience we both will remember.

was initially impressed by the grand exterior of the Rock Hill Hotel and the warm welcome at check-in. However, everything quickly went downhill after that. The room was unbearably hot upon arrival, and while I was able to turn off the heating, the carpet was dirty, and the bed wasn’t properly made. The bathroom was freezing, and despite trying to freshen up after a long journey, there was no hot water. I reported the issue to reception, and was assured it would be fixed, but no changes were made. I went to bed with no shower, hoping for hot water the next morning, but again, there was none. I had to endure a cold shower. The restaurant service was fine, but it was disappointing to find that a simple espresso, which should be part of a breakfast, came with an additional charge. Even after bringing the hot water issue up again with reception, there was no apology, just an indifferent response. While I did have hot water later in the day, I was not impressed with the lack of attention to the issues I raised. When I tried to leave and only pay for one night, I was told the manager wouldn’t speak to me, and I was asked to pay for the full two-night stay. I was offered 30 euro which I did not accept. I ham always happy to pay for good service and get what am supposed to get but sadly I did not at Rock hill house. Overall, the hotel did not live up to the positive reviews I had seen. The cleanliness and maintenance were subpar, and the customer service was poor, especially when addressing problems. I would not recommend this hotel and will not be returning.

Gorgeous property with friendly staff. Beautiful room with comfortable beds. We enjoyed our stay even though we were placed in the adjacent building without elevator (carrying our heavy luggage upstairs was a pain).
The restaurant is wonderful, but the spa was closed during our stay, bummer! Check the schedule if planning on using the spa

We were lucky enough to get married at Rockhill House on New Years Eve 2024, and it could not have gone better. We had a night before instead of a day 2 in “The Church” restaurant and everybody was raving about the setting and food. The day itself started out with a sauna for myself and the groom party as my wife got ready. The sauna is absolutely fantastic would highly recommend. Grace was there to meet us when we arrived back from the church. The welcome drinks and canapés were excellent. The food was absolutely fantastic meat was so tender. Everything ran like clockwork Thank you so much Grace. What an incredible venue and an incredible day for us.
