I called the motel directly and made a reservation. Gave credit card information and left a deposit. Two weeks later, we decided to stay in another city with some friends. So, I called to cancel our reservation. The gal told me that the reservation had already been canceled. But, I never even called them to cancel. The gal acted completely indifferent. What if we had showed up? They wouldn’t have had a room for us on this busy weekend. I’d think twice before booking a room here.

Clean and fast communication. We are late for 10 minutes and the lady at the reception went back after closing time to accommodate us. Will definitely recommend

The pickings are slim for decent places to stay in Rockaway. As part of a several day trip to the coast, based on the website and reviews, we chose the Rockaway Beach Resort. We found it to be a mixed bag. The pros: check in was smooth and the desk staff very friendly. The room was very clean and the "resort," sits right on the oceanfront with nice, ample balconies. The cons: The website says "cable TV," but that is a very loose description. Technically correct, I suppose, but it is some weird Samsung TV/Roku-like system, so live, local channels were elusive at best (we found a couple of local channels doing news). There was only one TV....none in the bedroom. The beds are queen-size -- which the website stated -- so small and kind of "springy." That is, when my husband first laid down, he said, "I think I bounced." There was a sofa, but it was also older and the cushions have lost most of their definition, so we both had trouble getting up from it. There is a fireplace, but it doesn't radiate much heat. And, there is no elevator, which even though it is stated in the fine print on the website, it is just worth mentioning. We shortened our stay and the staff kindly refunded us 50% of our second night, which we appreciated. They also offered the other option was to give us a raincheck for another time. We declined because we would not go there again.
