The only reason that I gave this hotel 1 star was because it wouldn't accept 0 stars. We were in town for a family funeral, and had to get last minute booking. We've stayed at many Hiltons in our life, (I'm 83, he is 84) and they have always been a good experience. My husband and his daughter checked in on Tuesday afternoon, with 2 queen beds. I arrived on Friday evening and she left to stay with another family member. I was shocked and appalled when I walked into the room. Aside from being shabby and outdated & very expensive, the room had not been serviced since they arrived, even though a housekeeper had been there that day. He had asked the housekeeper to change bedding, but could only converse by pointing. She spoke no English. Bedding did not get changed, and blanket and spread were thrown over the bed haphazardly. Waste baskets were overflowing with 4 days worth of empty coffee cups, juice and water bottles. Bathroom waste basket not emptied even though she did leave fresh towels. He is disabled and supposedly the room was handicap accessible...although probably not to ADA standards. He can't stand and there were grab bars, but nowhere for him to sit to shower. He hadn't been able to shower from Tuesday thru Friday. I had to get in the tub with him, so he didn't fall. After I complained to Mgr., Steven, he secured a shower chair. Steven said he knew he was disabled and couldn't stand. Saturday morning, I went to make coffee, only to find there were no cups or creamer. Not only that, once they brought them to me, I had to fiddle with the coffeemaker to get it to turn on. TV was not working when he arrived. Wake was on Sunday, and I spent 10 minutes trying to get the bathroom outlet to work so I could blow-dry my hair. I finally succeeded, but on Monday, the day of the funeral, I could not get it to work. Finally, I used the single accessible outlet in the bedroom, and with no mirror. Needless to say, A Disaster!!!!!! I was humiliated!!! Steven said he would have someone fix it while we were gone for the day. Not fixed, water pic not able to be used that evening. Our stay was during a stressful time in our lives, and we did not need the added stress. We were there from Tuesday until Monday and the room rate was quite high. Not even complimentary breakfast to sweeten the bad experience, and $10/day parking charge in a very large empty lot????? The hotel was shabby and terribly outdated at best. The experience was horrid. We felt like we were being taken advantage of...we are seniors and handicapped. No concessions made for either, not even reduced rate.
