Hotels near Piazza 3 Novembre, Riva del Garda

Easy to get to by car but close to the pedestrianized centre. Fantastic staff. Comfortable and colourful room with plenty of sockets. Nice large shower - in room 1 it's next to the balcony door, so make sure you draw the curtains! Great position with lots of restaurants nearby and a supermarket just around the corner. Underground parking was a huge plus. Fairly good choice of food for sweet or savoury breakfast with freshly cooked eggs, freshly squeezed orange juice and freshly made coffee available. Brunch was also a good weekend option with bagels, pancakes etc. Very little plastic packaging around and it was nice to find glass bottles of water in the room upon arrival.

The back door of the hotel is Garda Lake, where you can swim and windsurf, and there is a windsurfing school in the hotel. The breakfast is fairly plentiful in Europe, and the service is in line with the high standards of northern Italy. The styles of the rooms in the new building and the old building are quite different. The hotel is like a big park, with good plant landscape design. The only problem is that pets are allowed in the hotel. Many people stay with dogs and they will urinate everywhere. Although individuals also love dogs, they are also worried about the indoor and outdoor hygiene of the hotel...

We had a lovely week at this small but superb hotel. Set in a quiet area just back from the lake the hotel has 20 rooms and 20 parking spaces which is amazing for a hotel on Lake Garda. The staff were so friendly and helpful too. We chose the Full of Life room which came with a nice balcony and as we booked direct with the hotel we had free use of the minibar. As it was 30 degrees when we were there we were very pleased to have air conditioning in our room which we could adjust to suit ourselves. The included breakfast was amazing: eggs and bacon; a variety of bread and rolls; cold meats and cheeses; a range of fresh fruit, juices and cereals; pastries, croissants and jams; delicious cakes; teas, coffees and fizz. Were we impressed - you bet we were!

Summary: This is best described as a 4-star hotel on a budget, and in lots of ways manages to achieve just that. But in doing so your 4-star experience will feel like a 3-star, it’ll lack a sense of being special, and if you’re used to staying in 4-star accommodation or greater this hotel will inevitably go down as one of the lesser experiences you come across. All that said, its location is excellent, its cleanliness can’t be faulted, and it is at the end of the day affordable against other 4-star options. Hence a solid 3 out of 5 rating from us. It neither goes above and beyond, nor goes without its issues, nor is terribly poor either. It just sort of delivers a middle-of-the-road overall experience. There are other recent reviews by active UK reviewers speaking to this effect, and I think they’re fair and accurate reviews. They’re worth a read below. Useful Info about Location: 1. Riva is the adventure sport capital of this region. Whether it’s climbing, mountaineering, mountain biking, water sport, or parasailing - Riva sits at the heart of it all. As such, the location of the hotel is perfectly situated on the eastern edge of the town - the gateway to the sports, and there are many many rental places to choose from. If you’re visiting Riva for restaurants, ferry tours of Garda, or quiet Italian gardens - you’re better off staying a mile or two further west where you’ll be closer to the old town and ferry terminal (or indeed choosing somewhere other than Riva). 2. This hotel charges for water. You can buy bottled water affordably for 56p/L at the Co-Op supermarket which is about 10 minutes by foot. It was one of the first things we did and probably saved us close to £40. 3. There is one main well-tarmaced bike ride north via the river into wine land, and a lovely little restaurant called Bike and Wine. It’s well worth the effort to get there. Other bike rides are more off-road and even some of the green routes would be otherwise labelled blue in the UK. We can highly recommend Happy Bike which is a 5min walk from the hotel. 4. Segnana Watersports is also about a 5min walk from the hotel and has very experienced instructors. It’s priced slightly higher than we expected, and that’s possibly due to their slight monopoly on the area, but their customer service and instruction is excellent. 5. A topographical map of the region is worth investing in if you like outdoor pursuits. The good: The grounds and interior, including accommodation, are well presented, clean, and tidy - and it’s clear that both housekeeping, bar staff, and grounds keepers take a lot of pride in their work in the morning when they prepare the hotel. The pool is nice and an adequate size for the numbers of guests. In the sun it’s a nice play to be. I should note that my daughter found a used tampon in the pool which sat at the side all day - which while a likely accident, does reveal the preoccupation of the hotel during peak guest hours on selling drinks as o

We spent four nights at Hotel de la Garda in Torbole. Every time we entered our room the view took our breath away. Dinner was delicious and daily breakfast was full of choices including fruits, breads, baked goods and proteins. The staff in the restaurant and front desk were super friendly and helpful. We could not have enjoyed our stay at the hotel and in Torbole more. Lake Garda is breathtaking and this was the perfect place too stay!

On arrival we were allocated our room and we asked about where we could go for lunch, we were told that everything in the area was shut and the only option was the pool bar, this was actually not true. We then went to our room we were really disappointed, the room was very dated and we had a view of scaffolding outside, our balcony was also over looked by at least 6 others. I had asked for a view of the lake but when we got to the hotel we quickly realised that there isn't a view of the lake. We asked to change rooms and to be fair we were offered another room to look at. This room was marginally better so we took it. Some of the staff were really friendly and helpful but most were not very helpful at all and most of the time there was no one sat on reception because they were outside having a cigarette. It didn't help that there wasn't a TUI rep at out hotel (not the hotels fault I know). We had to find everything out about the area ourselves, there is nothing in your room giving you any information about the hotel or the area. There is a shuttle bus that takes you down to the main village of Torbole at 9am and 10am and picks you up again at 4pm (we only found this out when we asked). You can walk but its is incredibly steep and feels like more than 2km. Again I had to ask about this, but reception can give you a bus pass which means you can travel free on the bus in the local area, the buses run much more frequently, reception have a copy of the timetable and on request also let us have a copy of the ferry timetable. We wanted to hire a car but that was near on impossible and as for taxis, they are very few and far between. This hotel is very remote and due to the transport issues/buses only run until a certain time, you couldn't go out at night which was really disappointing. Drinks were very reasonably priced and the main bar man was very happy and friendly. We actually didn't rate the food very much. Breakfast is probably one of the worst we have ever had, felt very much aimed at the German guests. There was never any scrambled or fried eggs ready when we went up and I could never find the lady who was cooking them. Most of the breakfast didn't get replenished when it ran out. Dinner is chosen at breakfast time from a menu offering 4 different options, some of the food was good, some of it was rubbish and not really what i would expect from Italy, most of the time we would eat out at lunch time and just have the buffet salad for dinner. The hotel shut off the aircon halfway through are stay it was still quite warm at night and the rooms are quite stuffy, we asked if they had any fans and were told no, we slept with the patio door open but there was noise from the road. This is a moan about TUI now, if you do go to this hotel book with Jet2 and not TUI, Jet2 were at the hotel 3 times a week and did a welcome meeting for their guests. It was close to Mori station and the mountain view was so wonderful. But the road is not comfortable to walk without a car. Everything was nice and clean except for the fact that the phone charging port was too far away so I couldn't use my phone while lying down☺️
