I was very disappointed in the way that the hotel has been let rundown. The carpets were dirty, my toilet was dirty, the seat toilet needed changed, the room was dark. The paint on my bathroom door frame was coming off. It is WAY PAST NEEDING UPDATES. Even the main restroom in the lobby was in ill repair. I was told the rooms at Belterra were $30 more per night. Pay the extra $30 and get an updated, nice, clean room.

We have been to the Rising Star ****** many times but never stayed in lodging so we finally did. Not a negative but the Casino/Resort in out a ways from bigger places which I think is a positive. Our room was clean, big (King sized non-smoking room) and the bed was very comfortable. The report had an indoor hot tub and heated pool - we enjoyed both! They also had a sauna, I haven't seen this in a hotel before, and loved it! They also had an exercise room right near the indoor pool which was very well equipped. When we where there, they were getting up their Christmas displays (indoors and outdoors) up (opens 1 November. I believe) which is 100% awesome and one of the free best displays I have ever seen! We got two free bottle waters in the room as well as other standard amenities such as cable TV, coffee/tea maker, etc. Parking is very plentiful and free. We plan to go back and stay another night in the very near future!

The worst ****** in the tri-state. Horrible service, and nasty conditions prevail with no end in sight. Please see photos of the room that I was given, it was covered in various types of mold. It appears the damage is so bad in the lodge that it goes from the third floor through the second floor all the way down to the first floor with mold and toxic growth. The condition in the lodge is deplorable, the management would rather paint over the mold and toxic growth and not address the situation by keeping the building open when it should be closed down and have all toxic mold, and contaminants removed. The overall condition of the hotel and ****** is horrible. The first thing you notice when walking into the main lobby of the ****** is that all the floor is taped together and coming apart. When you walk into the hotel, you noticed dirt and stains on the floor with the wreaking smell of cigarette smoke. How did things get to be so horrible at this ******? How is it they made 3.3 million last month and still can’t do any maintenance, upkeep or pay the majority of people a living wage? Why is the majority of the people unhappy to outright disgruntled at this establishment? Could it be that the CEO just flew in on a helicopter, nothing boost team morale like telling people you don’t have enough money to pay a living wage and then spending $400 an hour on a helicopter to fly in to make an eight hour appearance. The lodge building has mold and possible toxic growth that appears to have been painted over several times and not repaired. Maybe the Board of Health needs to come and do a closer inspection of this facility? The main hotel has issues of lack of cleaning/ maintenance, it’s especially bad around the refrigerator units in the rooms. I’ve been told how if you move the refrigerator units, there’s a very good possibility that cockroaches will come running out from under them. In addition, I’ve also been told that there’s been a bedbug problem in the main hotel. The boat is in such disrepair and falling apart, you are not allowed to go out onto the decks any longer. It appears that there are rust spots on the deck that have made it so weak you could possibly fall through. The boat also is just as disgusting as the mold filled Lodge with the same lack of cleaning and maintenance. The lower bathroom is dark, dingy and smells of urine. Don’t waste your money and spend your time and effort in trying to go to this ****** to become a VIP. Once you become a five star VIP they just assume you’re going to keep coming and start to treat you very poorly. They spend all of their time and effort on the three star members, trying to dangle the carrot and tell them how great it’s going to be to be a five star member. They’ve taken away their VIP lounge and no longer offered that perk to VIP members. Makes you wonder what the point of becoming a five star member is at this location, if you don’t receive any perks for achieving that s

The hotel room carpet is outdated and dirty. I went to front desk and asked for a different room and they said they had none available!! Came for one night and really wanted to use the pool which could not because they had so many kids in the pool I could not enjoy it. The ****** was fun, but the games were broken or very old. I asked for help on better games and the staff asked me to hold on & was rude to me and left me standing in the ****** for 15 min and never returned. I then had to ask a cashier for help on finding certain games. In which she was helpful.

We had a great time and will return. We ate at the steak restaurant and it was excellent. The service was wonderful. Every employee we encountered was pleasant and helpful. The Christmas decorations and displays were worth the trip alone.

Last year 2022 was fun and we had a great time. We visited again today December 2023 and was not really impressed. Machines are very old and hardly any bells and whistles going off. It’s unfortunate as the decoration at Christmas are wonderful. That and the live reindeer outside did make the trip a bit worth it. Probably will not return, darn. Just too, too old!
