The staff at Donna Carmela catered to our every need. The breakfast was amazing with lots to choose from. We had a delicious dinner outside among the gardens. The trees with little sparkling lights and soft music playing in the background make it very special. The rooms were large and very comfortable with all amenities you may need. I would definitely recommend it.

Het hotel heeft een mooi vergezicht op de zee. Ontvangst was super vriendelijk, al het personeel is super vriendelijk, met toch een speciale vermelding voor altijd vrolijke Daisy die het ontbijt nog een extra dimensie geeft. De suite is ruim, met extra groot bed, en een mooie bos bloemen bij het ontvangst. Alleen wat spijtig dat de spoorweg en gewone weg toch wel goed hoorbaar waren , ook 'snachts. Het ontbijt zelf is heel uitgebreid en lekker. Dineren in Cusina is super lekker en heel verzorgd. De rode Etna wijn is zeker een aanrader. Zeker een bezoekje waard.

Absolutely lovely week at this beautiful hotel, the customer service from everyone was exceptional, they were so warm, welcoming and willing to help in any way. Rooms very nice , gardens lovely, wine tasting was an excellent experience with Rosaria and Guialuca (we did it twice). Definitely worth visiting Mt Etna, we drove ourselves and went to the North rather than the busy south and had an excellent time. We went up further with a 4 x 4 vehicle and guide, loved it! We would stay again if in Sicily!

From the rustic chaos that is Sicily, Donna Carmela is like an oasis of calm and tranquility you step into and all your needs are taken care of in a personal and professional way, nothing is too much trouble and all the staff are only too happy to help you in anyway they can with a smile of their faces. We spent a week with them and cannot thank them all enough for the kindness they showed us both. We spent 2 nights in the romantic villa that is 800m from the hotel, it was remote but beautifully appointed and a great place to get away from everything, the remainder of our time based in the exclusive suite, a beautifully appointed room and terrace. I can thoroughly recommend the wine tasting, even if you aren’t an expert, Rosario’s passion for Sicilian wine was outstanding and his enthusiasm infectious, so much so we booked again. Our only slight disappointment was the food, breakfast was excellent, lunch the offering was a bit basic and the dinner menu was a little over ambitious in our view and you would only want to eat there once or twice. Thanks again and if we come back to Sicily we will definitely stay again.

We stayed in this lovely hotel for a week purely for relaxation & we loved it. The staff make it particularly special. They are attentive without being intrusive, cheerful & helpful, just perfect. Gerardo & all the waitresses in particular. We had a suite with a large balcony in the main building, which was spacious and comfortable. The restaurant was quite expensive, but worth it, though after a week we would have liked a change. We did eat out twice nearby. We were so happy in the hotel we didn’t mind that it really is quite isolated. Day trips to Taormina & Etna were enough for us. In mid September the temperature was in the mid to high 20’s. Perfect. Not sure how we would have coped with the much higher summer heat. It’s a lovely hotel very well managed. We would return.

Bellissima esperienza . Abbiamo soggiornato una notte e ci ritorneremo sicuramente. Accoglienza,pulizia e relax sono all’insegna di questo resort. Si trova vicino Catania, poco distante da Taormina. Staff molto disponibile, abbiamo cenato lì’ ed è stata un’esperienza bellissima. Per non parlare della colazione!!!!

Siamo stati una notte in questa fantastica struttura. La posizione è ottima per visitare sia l'Etna che le città di mare vicine. La struttura è molto curata stanze pulite e confortevoli, rilassarsi in piscina dopo una giornata di escursioni è veramente piacevole. Consiglio di provare anche il ristorante, noi abbiamo mangiato molto bene, essendo i primi di settembre abbiamo mangiato nei tavoli all'aperto, l'atmosfera era molto bella il servizio ottimo come anche il menu e la carta dei vini. A presto e grazie!

Donna Carmela was hard to leave. Beautiful
And enchanting hotel with a warm personable staff. Comfortable rooms with beautiful furniture. Lovely pool and breakfast area. And a very delicious buffet table. The restaurant exceeded our expectations.

We stayed for four nights and were very sorry to leave. Room was large, comfortable and spotlessly clean and the standard of housekeeping throughout was excellent. Service everywhere is friendly and efficient, and pool deck is great place to soak up the sun and admire the views of Etna and the sea. Dinners were fantastic, real problem in choosing between so many lovely dishes and great Sicilian wines.
