What an absolute joy to spend two days at Grantley Hall. This was our second visit and we were not disappointed. It’s a fabulous hotel in beautiful surroundings. The staff are without exception all genuinely very welcoming and very keen for you to enjoy your stay. The rooms are very elegant with beautiful decor. We dined in the Sean Rankin restaurant on the first evening; a fabulous Michelin taster dinner, and on the second evening we visited Fletchers; again delicious cuisine. We enjoyed beautiful weather on the Friday and had a wonderful lunch outside in the Fletchers courtyard. Just perfect! I do think it’s important to say how unspoilt and unpretentious this amazing hotel is and how charming all the staff are. We will definitely be returning!

Having visited Grantley Hall 3 times already we are looking forward to our 3 night stay next week. The attention to detail by all of the staff is amazing, with nothing being too much trouble. Their training at the academy is 1st class but also all the young men and women seem so naturally at ease but professional with all the guests. One member of staff who stood out and made our visit last time very special was Eloise who served us 2 evenings at dinner and gave us excellent local advice of places to visit in the area. She also showed a genuine interest in us as guests at Grantley Hall, and is a wonderful ambassador for the hotel. We love our walks around the stunning gardens! a must if you get the chance to visit! I’m very excited to be returning to celebrate my husbands birthday.

Well where do I start! This is an amazing hotel from the minute you arrive at the gate and are announced to the waiting doormen to valet park your car and take your luggage seamlessly to your room, as you have a chilled check in accompanied with a complimentary drink. The room was above our expectation, enormous in size, super stylish with complimentary good champagne , Damson Gin , chocolates, gluten free shortbread especially baked for me and different for my partner, fridge full of complimentary soft drinks and some crisps/ biscuits. A fully double sinked marble bathroom with a double shower and a huge bath not forgetting a Japanese automatic loo with a heated seat! The bed was so comfortable that we slept really well. We ate in Eighty Eight the first night and had a lovely meal followed the next night in Shaun Rankin’s restaurant, with the tasting menu which lasted nearly four hours and was a wonderful experience from start to finish . I have eaten many tasting menus and I was given visually exactly the same as my partner ate with no difference when adapting to gluten free. A Big round of applause for this as I usually just end up with less or something different on my plate. We also had the accompanying wines which all were great. Afterwards we went over to Valeria’s Bar for a bit of live jazz , and a fun atmosphere. We also went to the spa during the day which was lovely and not too busy. Breakfast both days was delicious, very chilled with an extensive menu which was fantastic as they could adapt anything to be without gluten. The whole hotel is immaculate, smells great, and you are made to feel very special in every department mainly due to the wonderful team of staff. Whoever trains these people should take a bow, they are the best staff I have ever encountered in a 5 star hotel. They are all immaculately dressed, groomed and trained to know and recognise you . Nobody passes you without speaking to you. We had such a lovely time,we are returning to experience the Christmas / New Year period this year.

Having just spent 2 nights at Grantley Hall I cannot fault it. The property is beautiful and the staff were amazing. Due to family issues I had to change the booking 2 times and this was no problem. The food in Fletchers was delicious we ate in there both nights due to the lovely menu. The spa was really lovely and the facilities were excellent. From arrival to departure it was faultless. Thank you all at Grantley Hall.

I honestly don’t leave negative reviews lightly but frustration has got the better of me. It is our third time staying at Grantley and lost count on number of meals or spa visits so this review I hope is a one off as previously I have had no complaints. This was a weekend stay for hubby birthday. The good first to be fair; - as always the atmosphere is lovely, it’s very clean and pleasant - abundance of car chargers - the staff in the restaurants were lovely as always - lovely marble bathroom and great views in our room. So why the bad review; - there were issues with our room; tv didn’t work, the bed leaned terribly and husband was unable to sleep no matter what we tried - these are arguably small things but this is an expensive hotel and you do need the basics of a bed you can sleep in - I called down at 10pm and a lady came up was unable to fix tv and bed would have to wait till morning. Fair enough not a lot she could do. - the next morning I went to reception - and this is where I feel things got unacceptable. I gave the list of things that I would appreciate sorting for the next night. And the lady said “shall I get guest relations to see you please sit in there” I did. She then phoned and started having a conversation about me on the phone for all to hear where she was making zero attempt to hide her contempt and “guest relations” clearly didn’t want to come down. There was giggling like children etc from the staff and I felt really quite intimated and uncomfortable. I told her not to bother and walked out. A member if staff ran after me shouting which I again felt quite embarrassed by and asked them to please be more appropriate and just leave me. - my husband was worried about sleeping so later in the day I went to reception and asked if I could just have sheets to try level the bed (queue more childish combative response). Once back in room we had a call and my husband (who never gets angry) got angry speaking to the staff member (I think manager) who would not let him finish a sentence. It turned out they had changed the mattress - thank you. And husband stopped him and made clear we did not want anymore conversations and that the rudeness was not acceptable but thanked him for sorting the mattress and asked that we please be left alone. We have a little anxiety about checking out but we are clear we just want to pay and go. All in all just so unecessary and detracts from all the good the hotel has to offer. We sadly actually won’t return. I really hope there is some training on the back of this as making customers feel uncomfortable is just not acceptable we were not aggressive or difficult we just had a room that was not good enough.
