The Unicorn Hotel Wetherspoon

The unicorn hotel is in a great position in Ripon comfortable rooms good bar, the big let down is breakfast, we have stayed here many times, unfortunately you expect a nice breakfast in the morning and most times it’s cold and not cooked to order it happens every time, you don’t expect a five star breakfast but cold beans scrambled egg floating in a bowl of water is really unacceptable, the server agreed the scrambled egg was unacceptable, he didn’t offer a refund but said DO YOU WANT A REFUND we didn’t we just wanted a nice breakfast the kitchen staff are clearly not trained or interested in providing a simple breakfast for customers to enjoy

Stayed here many times . Mostly on a Sunday. Parking in Sainsbury’s at the back for £2.50 for 24 hrs. Free for Disabled . Stayed in most of the rooms and never really had a problem with any of them to be honest apart from the toilet door handle coming off once where we were moved to a completely new room. Coffee tea /chocolate in each room. Bottled water . Clean rooms bedding and towels. Will continue to book and stay . Depending on room , you will get great views of the nearby Cathedral. Room 210 is a nice quieter room

We were here every Mon-Fri working next door for the past 12 weeks .Rooms always clean , bar staff always friendly food always hot . Some rooms have view of the Market square some over the Cathedral , own car park but you have to be quick with that .

This was our first time trying a Wetherspoons hotel and it was fab. We stayed for a birthday weekend, a Saturday night at a great price. The hotel is in the town centre overlooking the square. There is very limited parking at the rear of the hotel, but for £2.60 you can park on Sainsburys car park for 24 hours, and it really is just behind the hotel, a 5 minute walk. It's a really nice quirky Wetherspoons pub, lots of seating and a small beer garden. Check in was straight forward, the only issue we had was that the room key card didn't work, we went back to reception and the manageress sorted it out straight away. The room was spacious, bathroom was quite a decent size, lovely cosy decor, comfy bed and spotlessly clean. We asked for a room at the back of the hotel after reading reviews on here, wanting a view of the Cathedral, well they certainly delivered, the manageress said upon checking in, 'oh you have got a view of the Cathedral', it's nice to know that when you make requests on booking that they do read them, and try to accommodate, so thank you to that lady (I'm sorry I don't know your name). We had room 114, best in the hotel in our opinion, dual aspect with a view of the Cathedral. Wouldn't be good for anyone with mobility issues, there's no lift and a few stairs. We can't wait to book another stay in a Wetherspoons after stopping here, so thanks to the staff for giving us a great first impression, you have set the benchmark for the next one we go to.

Really surprised how good a wetherspoon hotel is. This one is centrally located with great restaurants around the corner. Car parking no problem in the huge sainsbury car park £2.60 for 24 hours. Room excellent staff very helpful and friendly. Will use again as a Base for seeing yorkshire.

Right on the market square this spoons hotel is in a great location Check in was easy although we did have to get our room keys updated as the stopped working half way through our stay Our room was spacious and clean with everything you wanted although just a fan ,no air con This is an old building with no lift and three floors so ask for the first floor if you can
