Fairfield Inn & Suites Richmond Midlothian

We had a great stay at the hotel. The room was comfortable, the staff were amazing. The only thing that would discourage me from staying again is the location of the hotel. It’s in a suburb far from any type of tourist attraction.

Lobby and rooms clean, hotel appears to be fairly new. The front staff were friendly and cheerful. I was impressed with the complimentary hot breakfast - has healthy options but also waffle maker and some baked goods as well as eggs/breakfast meat. Shower was spacious and good water pressure. There is an indoor pool but it is small and suited only for kids. The hotel was quiet at night. The exercise room has a variety of cardio machines, and there is a set of dumbbells with a bench, but the cable machine was broken and just sitting there. There was no hotel bar or restaurant, but there are restaurants and grocery stores nearaby. I would certainly stay here again, and look forward to it.

We have stayed here many times and overall, we like the hotel. However twice now we have had a problem with our bill and the manager does not resolve the problem to our satisfaction. The first time he did not follow through on a promised refund but gave us points instead. And this time, after an initial email, does not respond after his staff mistakenly gave us incorrect information, which added $100 per night to our bill. Will not stay here again.

Catfished by “nice” hotel. Not greeted by anyone even with lack of people in the lobby. Over ten minutes later I saw the young man in charge sitting in a chair with his feet up relaxing with a coworker. After getting his attention he handed me the keys for room #300. As I collected our luggage my wife called and told me that our “room” was occupied. Turned out the hotel assigned us the wrong room. The room was the best offered and looked like a standard room at any truck stop. Doors didn’t shut, dirty towels, thin walls, and a view of their dumpster seemed to be their best room. In the morning we were awoken by pounding on our door saying maintenance was needed. After explaining we had a noon checkout the guy says “Oh” without even an apology then proceeded to pound on every door on our floor extra loud from his annoyance with us I assume. Much more could be said but bottom line ignore any positive reviews about this place and go anywhere else.
