The property looked abandoned when we arrived. Staff barely spoke to us and seemed inconvenienced by us being there. We booked a non smoking room and it reeked of smoke, there were also cigarette burned in the sheets. The toilet seat was painted and wobbly, the shower sprayed everywhere, leaving a soft spot on the ceiling above it. There were two doors to the room, one of which was completely useless from the outside and the lock on the inside of the room was broken off. Vending machine didn’t work, and the ice machine didn’t work. We killed multiple bugs inside the room and I took pictures of the holes in the walls and the blood on the walls. I would NEVER recommend this location to anyone and I plan on writing another review on the actual quality inn site as well.

This place is a hot mess. It was once a huge Holiday Inn but is now completely rundown. Out of hundreds of rooms probably fewer than half are available. Non-functioning toilets, broken coat racks, failed lighting. No one opened the breakfast room, which was probably a good thing. Avoid this place at all costs. Choice hotels should be ashamed of lending its name to this dump.

I would never refer anyone to stay here. The place was filthy. The elevator is broken. The main door is broken open, therefore anyone can enter it's not safe. My room handle didn't even lock. This place is worse than a dive. Even my children couldn't sleep; feeling unsafe. No amount of travel points will make up for the fact that I wasted my time and almost stayed somewhere that made my sons feel unsafe. (I left, I could never lay my head here)

Elevator doesn't work asked for a different room not on the 3rd floor because im a disabled vet with lung issues. Fatima at the front desk decided that wasnt a valid reason to change rooms and i had to wait to make sure no one was going to take their rooms on the first floor to change it. After checking out of my original room at 9am and coming back at 3pm...room 138 had no bolt on the door and they shoved a table in front of it and then said I was a liar when I complained about the safety issue. Told me they cancelled the rest of my reservation and to call Choice Hotels for a refund. I called. The front desk refused to check me out with a representative on the phone. This place should be condemned like the Rodeway Inn attached to it is.

Needs to be condemned....broken main door, broken TV, broken bathroom door, broken outside door. no towels for the shower, and broken furniture in the room. Cigarette burn in the bedding, and left over alcohol containers in the room. Ended up kicked out for asking for a new room with a TV that worked. just good for parties and renting by the hour...... Sketchy. Complaint placed with choice hotels as well. Terrible front desk service. DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE ANYTHING!

Before arriving and booking I called to get the logistics. I told the agent what i needed and asked if the hotel could accommodate. I was told yes. I was told that I can do a early check and a special note would be put in. I arrived at the agreed time to only be met with a clerk who stated that i should be aware of the policies and procedures. She stated, Everyone knows the check in time and that even though today is Saturday February 3rd our computer system is still on Friday, February 2nd for check in. I informed her that I did my best by calling, stating what I needed, and asked questions. I was met with utter rudeness. Fatima stated, there is nothing I can do for you. you should have known. If I had of known. I would have made alternative plans versus sleeping in the cold parking lot with my children an car jackings on the rise. Then she didn't even allow my small children to use the restroom. I am just glad we made it out alive. I called Monday to speak with a manager about the situation. The front desk personnel answered an said, Just tell me what you need. I said I need a manager to speak about my experience with the front desk over the weekend. He said you can just tell me. I said you didn't state who you were. Are you the manager? He then said fine and hung up. I hope this is not the standard or interaction in Richmond VA Quality INN. The frond desk statement on what I should and should not know, to the rolling of her eyes and yelling at me, and then to the manager Sam I am shocked and disappointed. A better of approach and communication should have happened even if she wasn't able to help. She could have said , Ma'am I do apologize that you were misinformed. This is ..... our policy and procedures regarding our check in moving forward. Can I have your name and number to follow up with you? there is nothing I can do at this time. however I can try to ensure that this doesn't happen again

Please spare yourself the embarrassment… it’s basically closed and so maintenance being done but it’s a nightmare!! Upon arrival there’s no on in the lobby which is hot because of no ac… after checking in I had to get help finding the room and it looks like a bunch of homeless people walking around on the property. Mold in the rooms and just needs to be torn down!!! Thank the lord it was early enough in the evening and not dark out. After walking in the room and looking I was in amazement so I had to find someone to help me get my money back but before doing so I was made to take them to the room just to point out what made me decide not to stay. I only pointed out a couple things to be nice but dear god how can a place like this even be open I don’t understand. I’ve never felt so uncomfortable in my whole entire life traveling. Just know what you’re signing up for!!!

Place is rundown elevator not working had to walk to the 3rd floor, stairway smells of urine furniture was torn smoke detector was missing no doorknob on balcony door also unable to secure it no plate inside microwave homeless people also living there and hanging in the hallway...I immediately went to the front desk and checked out and got a refund....that place should be removed from the choices list

We were in from Chicago for a wedding and our AirBnb cancelled on us after a 14 hour drive in. So making a quick decision I choose this location, being a Choice rewards member. Let me tell you, not only was that a horrible mistake, it also prompted me to cancel my member status. The hotel is located conveniently 5 minutes from downtown. This would be the only positive aspect. We arrived in Richmond around 6am, we were charged 3-4 rate for 4 hours the first day(uncertain if that’s a standard), given keys and told it was around the building. Getting to our room had an outside door leading to the room, we were not told that the keys do not open these doors leading to confusion that the keys don’t work(more on that later). I go around to the hallway and the security door is propped open permanently, the hallway has a 5 foot hole along the base of one room without any signs of repair. Get into our room. Dank dirty musty smell, fire detector ripped off the wall, mold on the ceiling, more water damage in another spot and the kicker was what appeared to be blood on the walls. We needed the sleep so we choose to stay and had a wedding at 4pm so also opted for the second night. Hindsight is 20/20 always! The morning brought nothing better as we left my girlfriend was heckled by the local fare as I went to fetch the front office/maintenance as our door wouldn’t open for the first time. While leaving I noticed a very large section of rolled up carpeting that looked like it hadn’t moved in months outside, spanning two rooms. We left and had a wonderful breakfast at The Fancy Biscuit not far away and thought if the food is this good in the area then we can deal with the room as we were only there to sleep. We get ready to leave, we left a phone in the room and the key card wouldn’t open the door. Went to the front desk to magnetize the cards again, still wouldn’t work. Had to leave since the second time I went back there was a line of people, I should of warned them. We came back from our night out around 9pm and I immediately went to get new cards. Didn’t work, nor the second or third time in this timeframe. Finally I asked for maintenance to come again to physically open the door with a key, those readers just flat out don’t work. We left the next morning as soon as possible.
