Fairfield Inn & Suites Savannah SW/Richmond Hill

We spend many nights at Fairfield Inn & Suites and this met hotel our expectations. Clean, comfy rooms, great staff (especially Linden at the front desk) a convenient location. A bit out of Newport, but east to get to and more affordable. Also easy to get to many restaurants on the water within a bit of time.

Stayed here for one night while traveling through. The cost of our room was $179 after taxes on a Saturday night. A little on the expensive side, but I will say it was very clean and comfortable. The beds were very soft and the linens were clean and soft as well. The carpet appeared clean and I didn’t notice any stains on it. We had a handicap accessible room and it was very large. We had a king bed with a pullout sofa bed. Our son slept on the pull out bed. It was ok. Not the best I’ve seen, but certainly not the worst either. No springs were poking out, so that was a plus, but it could’ve been a little nicer quality honestly. As an adult, I wouldn’t have wanted to sleep on it personally, but for a smaller child it’s probably fine. The pillows were my biggest complaint and the reason why I removed a star from my rating. I don’t know why, but hotels now days only want to give you a “pillow nugget”, and not a full sized pillow, I dont understand why they do this. Not only that, but the pillows were very flat and didn’t have enough fluff in them. Other than the pillows, this hotel was mostly great. The free breakfast was nice. It had the absolute best oatmeal bar I’ve ever seen. It had toppings such as coconut, pumpkin seeds, slivered almonds, candied walnuts, chocolate chips, cranberries, etc.. It was really impressive. It also had eggs, sausage and breakfast sandwiches and more. It was a nice spread. Also the coffee was actually decent and the women tending to the breakfast area were very friendly and constantly cleaning up after everyone. I would stay here again, but I hope they take my advice and get better pillows. Full size and no more pillow nuggets.. please!

Exceeded expectations in every way - especially the breakfast! Whoever heard of pumpkin seeds and coconut flakes available for fresh oatmeal at a free breakfast? Super staff - they run a tight ship and it shows. You can get cheaper, but you will not get better.

First the positive, immaculately clean in its public areas. Now the negative, staff issues. We arrived in the Savannah area having driven down from DC on the way to Orlando. Found Fairfield Inn, my wife is a Bonvoy member, thought we'd stay there. Checked the price at Marriott's website and found $116, the high end of our budget but we thought we'd do it. called the hotel and the young man answering the phone gave us US Hwy 17 as the address however the GPS knows it with a different street name, we found our way there with the street number. When I came in there was no-one around, no-one. After waiting five minutes for someone to come to the front desk I went into the hotel's laundry area and a nice lady found someone. This was the same young man I spoke to on the phone, tall, heavyset. I've never met receptionist who was so non-hospitality-oriented, distant, uninterested. I mentioned that we are Bonvoy members. I asked for room prices he said that their cheapest was $131 plus tax. When I mentioned that I'd found a cheaper price online at their website, he said "oh the web." I asked again about price and he said that $131 was the best price they had. I said I'd check around the neighborhood, he said fine. No attempt to retain me, very cold tone. This is a tricky strategy in an area with at least half a dozen hotels within walking distance and not what I'd expect from Marriott.

Fairfield is our go-to hotel when traveling. We find that you get a clean comfortable stay for a decent price. While not all locations are equal, this one delivered on our expectations. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel is clean and the rooms/beds are comfortable. It is convenient to I95. There are a few dinner options nearby. Breakfast was the usual offerings, but the food was hot and plentiful and the area clean.

We use to feel really good about stopping at a Fairfield, not so much here. The staff was friendly but there were several things wrong. First I pick my hotel, especially after a long day of driving, based on an indoor pool. They have one. We checked in advance and the clerk said oh, yes its a nice HEATED indoor pool. Last night it was mot heated and the room was freezing. So no, back relaxing swim for me. Little things: the little coffe tray to hold the coffee pod in the room was the wrong size. It did not fit into the coffee machine. So, no coffee early in the morning without going down stairs. The bathroom door squeaked loudly making it a problem for my roommate and me. The room must have had a leak and the ceiling was not painted the same color everywhere (not a problem for our stay, but a sign of management to us). The elevaor clunked badly. Cleaning staff did not allow an older couple onto the elevator ahead of them until I suggested quite loudly that they should let the guest ride the only elevator first. The breakfast woman was particularly nice (2/17/24) Other Fairfields I have been in during the last month have been the same.....lots of little inconveniences, although the pool is a big inconvenience.

Staff at front knowledgeable and friendly. Room was clean, shower like no other we have experienced at any motel ( it was a walk in instead of in a bathtub.) Bedding was great. All in all it was a good pace to rest up. They recommended a restaurant to us and it was a excellent place to eat. Best chicken I've had in a long time in a restaurant.

The front desk agent, Ebony, made this hotel and my trip to Savannah great. I had the opportunity to listen and watch her deal with people in the lobby. She greeted every guest with true warmth and kindness. Even the weary ones, tired from travel, lit up and she welcomed them. She clearly gets to know the guests. She followed up to find out how peoples' evening was, and truly cared about each and every one of us. She is outstanding! Warm, lovely and so kind. I teach customer service service for a living and I could take Ms. Ebony with me as an example when I teach! She makes me want to be kind to others. Thank you Fairfield Inn. We should all be more like Ebony
