We got stuck in Charters Towers for a night with our dog due to flooding so stayed here for the night. It's a lovely place with beautiful pool and surrounds. We stayed in a cabin which was really spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed. We were extremely grateful for a nice hot shower and comfortable bed and we laid back watching the big screen TV during the rain. Best part was our dog was allowed to stay in our room with us. Highly recommend this place, we loved it.

Not a bad park. Pool was nice, they had a kids playground and a climbing wall. Camp kitchen was well setup. Site was drive though so not too bad to get in and out of. Only point i would say against was 3 toilets in mens amenities did not seem like a lot. Also a couple groups were loud and smoking at camp kitchen but that wasn't parks fault. Would still recommend.

Very spacious caravan site. Good amenities. Camp kitchen was ok, the hot and cold taps in the sink are separated so you can't really use "warm" water to wash up which is not very functional. Laundry was good with plenty of clotheslines to use.

Charters Towers Big 4 is a nice spacious Caravan Park. The Park looks slightly rundown in some areas which lets it down. Stayed in a Cabin which had the same issues, which I feel is letting it down from being a really nice Caravan Park. It’s on a main road but it wasn’t an issue for a good nights sleep.

I’ve been staying at this site for about a month now with work. Monday to Friday ish stayed in a cabin which was clean but lacking maintenance and it’s noisy with the highway meters away. I get it it’s not first class accommodation. This morning after heavy rain my car was covered in leaves and residue from the trees all around the parking areas at the cabins so on the way out I used the hose at the side of their little workshop area to hose of my windscreen off before hitting the road. 10 seconds in and I was confronted by a man asking what the f#%k are you doing? Did you ask to use my hose and are you even staying here.. I said yes I’m staying and I didn’t think it would be a problem to wash my windscreen. Ive got to pay for that F#%king water and it’s in the bylaws not to wash cars onsite. Congratulations on losing or business in the future. We pride our business on supporting locals.. Perhaps hospitality is not your thing Jason..

Not sure how this place has such a rating over 4 stars. Between the noise from the toilet running 24/7 and the hi-way was not a peaceful stay. Office staff were quite abrupt and on the rude side when it came to any interaction with them. Definitely not the country hospitality that is received at other establishments. Recommend to pick elsewhere and utilise great free camping facilities around the area.

I can only describe what I have experienced at this park and say that I do NOT recommend staying here if you place any value on your child's safety or respect you as customers. Our experience staying in a cabin was OK untill I tried to book again I contacted the office * to advise the shower door had come of its rails - this should of been picked up in cleaning and maintenance because yes these doors do get stiff to move prior to getting to the point of coming off the rails completely. I advised the office by phone and stated it was not urgent and could wait till we checked out. * we couldn't find the power switch for the stove and the guy came over after a few minutes...not long but he didn't go straight to it found the switch. * the swing opposite the cabin broke while my child was mid swing. the rope part of the swing had worn through at the top where it connects to the top rail. again this should of been picked up in a safety inspection prior. my child (10 yr old approx 30 kgs average child) could of broken her neck or anything. I didn't at that point take things further and I will do what I can to warn parents to check the safety of the play equipment supplied. Being a big 4 park that is advertised as being kid friendly i expect a standard which this park failed miserably. I did report the swing breaking while my child was Mid swing to the office as soon as I could. I tried to book into a cabin again only to find im blacklisted due to supposed damage to the cabin. later confirmed to be damage to the home made bunk bed. At the time I was unaware of any damage but my child has said to me the ladder step ( home made) came off in her hand when she touched it. Again this should of been picked up in a regular cleaning amd maintenance inspection. I was never contacted to pay any damage fees etc. on querying this I was told " it was only a very quick fix just hammering a nail or 2 back in, it was quick and didn't really cost much so never contacted you" this really didn't sound fair and reasonable to me to be held responsible for the lack of maintance. I didnt want to post feedback but felt I need to inform future guests to cover themselves for any claims that should fall into the maintenance of the park being blamed on the guest. I tried to sort this out with the office when I tried to make the 2nd booking. I was told " Take it up with the owners, they are away in NSW" I asked when they will be back and with snotty attitude was told " when they get here" the attitude of the assistant manager was atrocious. this should not have happened. so No I do not recommend staying here.

The park is looking tired. We have stayed here many times previously but with a change of management it doesn't appear to be as well kept. There were plenty of big sites grassy sites but there was also plenty of dirt sites. Sullage points needed on the grass sites and many sites flooded. 2 amenitity blocks and the bottom block wasn't cleaned over the weekend, the top block was much nicer. Pool looked great but not inviting as there were plenty of leaves and mould on the bottom. We did have a great couple of Happy Hours with a Pizza and Sunday Roast. The band was entertaining. Disappointed after staying last year and the place was an Oasis.
