The hotel is situated in a glorious spot. That's the end of the positives. We arrived to be told that restaurant and bar was closed on Wednesdays due to entertainment and "wings" being on at the adjacent golf clubhouse, 500 metres away up a sheepish slope. The room had not been cleaned properly with a residue of dirt in basin. Patio had not been swept in a month of Sundays and chairs were dirty. The receptionist who greeted us was polite, but had no authority and could not even provide us with glasses to replace plastic cups without reference to a manager who was not around. Staff st breakfast were pretty miserable with no real interaction. Food at breakfast was acceptable without being good. Can't comment on wings as we didn't bother going up there. Wouldn't go back

I had such a great experience at the restaurant. The food was fresh, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. (Especially the fish) Every dish we tried was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Sophie the food and beverage manager was there with a great smile overseeing the waitresses that were so full of fun and lots of smiles..Early morning breakfast was amazing (buffet) with a friendly server named Ellie...I would give the dining room and resort a solid 9/10 The staff makes you feel like family and a part of Cape Breton..Well done

If you have never stayed at this beautiful resort you don’t know what you’re missing. Weddings parties family reunions or just a great weekend with friends. The food is amazing and the service is top notch. Never disappoints.

Cottage is very rustic, which is fine but wasn’t worth the money in my opinion. We were locked out of our room within 10 mins of arriving . We were only given one key and the staff had no idea where the master key was. Sadly we had to wait for maintenance to arrive with the master key. No compensation for the inconvenience .
Also no information provided to guests that the doors automatically lock. To me this is a serious safety issue.
