Good place and meet many travelers from all over

An unexpected gem! I stayed one night during the week while waiting for my return flight at YVR. I've never stayed in a capsule hotel before and I needed somewhere affordable, clean and safe so I decided to give it a try. I was so happy with my choice! Everyone was polite, helpful and while small, (as expected) I felt peaceful, safe and cared for. I was impressed with the many thoughtful touches and gentle expectations/ethos (quiet hours, reminders to reduce waste, keep area clean and care for materials e.g., use one towel). The staff and website are upfront about this, but another heads up the dorms are co-ed with a privacy curtain for the pod. I had no issue

So, the “door” to the pod is actually a flimsy window blind. Not a solid panel — just a thin, unsecured roll-up blind that flutters with every breeze and offers zero privacy feeling. Someone could easily walk by and peak in. It doesn't even click into place at the bottom. But that wasn’t even the worst part. There was a malfunction in the sensor light that caused it to flash on and off erratically all night. It kept jolting me awake. And since the front desk is unmanned overnight, there was no one available to fix it. For light sleepers: beware. The walls are paper thin. I could hear the guy next door shifting in bed and even someone clearing their throat at the far end of the room. To top it all off, when I mentioned the flashing light the next morning, the desk clerk thanked me for letting them know — so they could fix it for the next guest. Assured me that the next one to use the pod would be unperturbed by the malfunction. I don't really care about who comes in after me. The problem was the quality, during my stay. No apology. No gesture of compensation. If you're desperate for a place to crash and if it were one-quarter the price, maybe it beats sleeping at McDonald's. But that’s about the only upside.
