Steveston Waterfront Hotel

Really enjoy the suite set up, cozy and clean. Cleaning service every 6-day could be a bit long. Our waterfront suite is so easy to access and to take a walk outside, very nice. The water pipes are a bit noisy at night while sleeping but acceptable, we drop back to sleep quickly.

My recent stay in suite 115, Starboard Building was, well, a TERRIBLE experience. I was actually looking forward to my checkout date. Here is why: in suite 115, there is a constant and loud fan noise coming out of the vent. It is not part of the AC function in the room. When I first opened the door, I heard this fan noise, but dismissed it as the AC and expected it to stop once the room temperature reaches setpoint. Well, it didn't. By the time I figured out that I'm stuck with this constant loud hum, I was already totally unpacked, and, unsure if there is even another suite that would be available, or, whether this constant fan hum is pervasive and exists in all suites. I had to sleep with my noise-cancelling headset. I hope this feedback will lead the management to either 'fix' this annoyance and spare another poor soul the agony that I went through, or take this room out of service if indeed this is the only room that had this 'added bonus', and I was just unlucky.

My second stay at the Steveston Waterfront Hotel and my first review My suite was well appointed and had a nice walk out and separate bedroom. HVAC system included 2 units and this kept me comfortable during some humidity in the weather during my trip. I am a business traveler and clock about 80 hotel nights a year and I chose this hotel for its proximity to the Richmond area as well as the Vancouver airport (15 minute drive without traffic) Additionally, it offers a "home away from home" experience with full kitchen, entertainment, washer and dryer etc. WiFi was very strong to support my virtual business expectations. (averaging 200mbs) The area is lovely and a quick stroll towards the town will present the visitor with numerous restaurants, shopping, historic tourist spots as well as proximity to the Pacific Ocean. This is a mixed residential and hotel / tourist area and the builders have done a pleasant and refreshing job with the "livable" architecture. GM Ryan F and Chantelle at reception were very attentive and communicative about my requirements during my stay. I commend Ryan for "listening" to the voice of the customer and making adjustments to suit my specific needs. This type of personalized service is rare these days and for a person to adapt to a guest's requests seems almost unimaginable but Ryan came through for me on several occasions. I am pleased with my experience at the Steveston Waterfront and I expect to return when my travels return to the Vancouver area. Hopefully in the future, I can bring members of my family to enjoy the experience that this hotel offers! Highly recommended !
