Great location, fabulous rooms and comfortable beds. Friendly attentive staff. Disappointing breakfast served buffet style which was cold.

Basically the same as what the other reviews have stated from the mothers day event. Absolute shambles and a big let down. booked a day off work to celebrate with my mum and I didn't get any food. We were only offered a 50% voucher to use at their hotel not including the spa. Wouldn't go back and especially line your pockets with anymore money. We ALL deserve a full refund. Own up and take the loss as you clearly knew you over sold tickets, ran out of food and crammed as many people into a venue and grabbed their money. Quite a few tables left before the defening act even came out which I cannot blame them. listing stated a 2 course brunch which was a buffet that half the people there didn't even get anything from as there was nothing left. Not to mention the tea/coffee self serve which was cold and not even drinkable. Avoid like the plague.

Absolutely appalling experience at the Mamma Mia Brunch at Stanley House Hotel & Spa on March 30th. I booked this as a special Mother’s Day treat for my mum and grandmother, but it was a complete disappointment from start to finish. The bar situation was a disaster—no directions, painfully slow service, and nowhere near enough staff. The nearest bar refused to serve us, and cash wasn’t accepted, which wasn’t mentioned in advance. By the time we finally got drinks, brunch had already started. The food was a joke—cold, severely lacking in quantity, and poorly organized. There was no proper system in place, meaning many guests (including us) didn’t get a full meal. The buffet was never adequately restocked, and given the ticket price, this was unacceptable. The entertainment was a mess—starting 30 minutes late with people blocking the stage, plus a terrible sound system with constant feedback and poor balance. The tribute act performed for barely an hour By halfway through, a huge number of guests had already left. With the amount of money taken from tickets and bar sales, there’s no excuse for such a poorly run event. To top it off, offering a 50% off voucher as compensation is an insult—why would I want to return after such a terrible experience? I also have a wedding to attend at this venue later this year, and after this, I have serious concerns about the standard of service. Absolutely unacceptable.

Dirty spa with half the equipment not working, waiting 45 minutes for drinks in the restaurant and had some random people walk into our room when we were getting ready to then be greeted with a rude receptionist stating we shouldn’t be in this room having been booked into that room by her colleague only 2 hours previous, to top it all off breakfast was cold, no clean cups or spoons and subpar service all round , would not stay again and is not good value for money

Arrived to our Aqua Thermal Journey at 2pm and were shown straight into the spa - was told by reception that our key card would be left at the spa reception desk when we came out - at just before 4pm we left the spa in our robes, collected our room key and were greeted with a unclean room - it looked like it was half way through cleaning - towels and sheets in piles, the curtains drawn, bed unmade. We went back to reception and had to wait around an hour for our room - which when you think the check in was 3pm - isn't great. We were given some complimentary drinks but for a £461 overnight stay I was expecting more.

Staff are brilliant, room was nice and roomy but some areas were v dusty and the safe didnt work. Food was ok. Hotel is a bit tired in a lot of areas and lacks a little love. Spa treatments were good and staff very nice. Spa itself however had two water spouts into pool not working. Ice machine not working and also the lounger bed still not working since at least january.
