A lot of areas and communal places and dirty and a bit grubby, like nothing a duster and vacuum wouldn’t fix but makes it look dirty and un kept and unloved. Our room wasn’t great. The shower is tiny, the bed was terrible, there was cobwebs on the ceiling, the cupboard doors and wardrobe don’t stay shut, the windows are disgusting and don’t shut properly and full of condensation. Again just really disappointing. We were on a bubbles and bliss package and “no bubbles” in the room at all. We dinned in Fred’s, again ok, but all a bit cold and dull. Staff were great. The biggest issue for me is you offer a “package” I found it really difficult to book initially and I expressed this at the time of booking, I kept getting passed from the hotel and spa and back and forth. Hotel at one stage told me all booked. Spa told me please go back to hotel to book?? I found it really disappointing considering you offer packages you should look after yourself customer in its entirety. On arrival at 2:40pm we came to reception to check in. I just wanted a room card as we had treatments booked for 3pm till 4pm and then thermals from 4pm to 6pm. I had no intention of going to the room. This was not possible we then had to cart all our stuff for the evening and our weekend bags to the spa. We both had a weekend bag each and some clothes. We then had to take this in the treatment room with us, then we had to get dressed to the changing rooms, then the locker was not large enough for bags and then the spa staff had to keep them in the office. The we came out the thermals I had to go dripping wet to the spa reception to get my bag. All because we couldn’t have had a room card. Why the hotel could run a room card over I don’t know whilst we were having our massage. We then got fully dressed and had to ho back to the reception to check in at 6pm. I just found all of this to be a faff and not very relaxing. The spa is a bit weathered now. The bed was broken meaning my husband and I couldn’t relax together. There was a notice saying sorry for inconvenience, same with one of the showers in the spa. The jets were also not working. The towels were an issue and staff were moaning about using grey towels whatever that means. So all in all not a great stay for us and I probably won’t return now.
