Two night stay
A very well designed and friendly hotel. Slightly disappointing that they couldn’t manage to rustle me up a sandwich when I arrived. No coffee facilities in the room either.

Mitten Im Zentrum und doch sehr ruhig.Super freundlicherer Empfang Saubere Zimmer, schöne Einrichtung Tolles Frühstück Haben Kinderbett mitbestellt, alles geklappt. Konnten sogar unsere Hunde mitnehmen. Parkplatz gratus hinter dem Haus

In dit hotel krijg je niet het gevoel om als gast welkom te zijn. Het is zo dat we ongeveer de enige gasten zijn, en het is dan wel te begrijpen dat daar niet zoveel personeel voor wordt ingezet, maar er zijn grenzen. Bij het ontbijt duurde het bijna een kwartier voordat er iemand kwam vragen of we koffie of thee wilden drinken bij dat ontbijt. Het hotel heeft een bistro - die was op zowel vrijdagavond als zaterdagavond gesloten. Bij het hotel hoort ook een ‘ratskeller’. Die was wel open en had ruimte genoeg, maar helaas wilde ook daar het personeel om 20.30 uur geen (eenvoudige) maaltijd meer serveren. Dat zou nog te billijken zijn, ware het niet dat voor een gast die een kwartier later binnenkwam de keuken gewoon geopend bleek. Dat zou nog te billijken zijn als de ratskeller vol was, maar wij waren ook hier, met de nieuwkomer, de enige gasten. Anno 2024 heeft een beetje hotel dan toch op de hotelkamer de faciliteit om zelf koffie of thee te maken, maar dat ontbrak ook hier. Net als een minibar - die is er wel, maar niet gevuld. En, om het dan compleet te maken: de kluis op de kamer is dichtgeplakt omdat die het ook niet doet. U denkt: dat zal dan wel een goedkoop kamertje zijn geweest: het is ‘de-luxe-zimmer’ a la raison van 170 euro per nacht. De kans dat wij in dit overigens best aardige plaatsje in dit hotel nog een keer een kamer boeken is, ondanks de uitnodigende woorden op de website, klein.

Het hotel is midden in het centrum van Rheinberg gelegen en toch goed bereikbaar. De kamer was ruim en schoon. Bij aankomst toch nog een kleine verassing, het was rustdag en daarom was ook het restaurant gesloten. Op de website is dat niet zo makkelijk te vinden. Alleen wanneer je kijkt bij het restaurant zie je dat er drie rustdagen in de week zijn. In het hotel konden we dan ook niets anders krijgen dan de twee flesjes water op de kamer. Noodgedwongen dus nog even wat inkopen moeten doen. Betaling werd vooraf gevraagd omdat de receptie tot 12u de andere dag onbemand zou zijn. Het ontbijt was goed verzorgd met ruim keuze aan lekkernijen. Ik zou hier best nog een keer heen kunnen gaan, maar dan op een dag dat het restaurant geopend is.
