We had a lovely time. Good service from reception,through to the staff and the delivery of a lovely dinner and breakfast. We had to announce our arrival within an hour. Although we appreciate and understand the issue with the baboons, it would've been nice if the cottage could've been aired as it was stuffy. The regularly sprayed insect repellent took getting used to although once again we do understand the reason for it. Thanks for a lovely well equipped cottage.

What a wonderful weekend at Forest Edge! In the beautiful and peaceful surroundings of the forest, comfortable and well equipped cottages we really had an enjoyable and relaxing stay. Cottages resemble the era of the woodcutters and are clean and well looked after. We feel revived after the weekend and will most certainly visit again.

Very nice fireplace. Wooden cottage construction gives it warmth. There is a nice outdoor shower which works well in the day time, even if it's cold outside. Beautiful, historic surroundings. It's a few km to the nearest shops, however. Only complaint is that on one night, the firewood we bought from reception was wet and would not ignite. They made up for it after that, though.

We have an enjoyable overall stay in Forest Edge Environment excellent - with Knysna forest on door step & seven passes in the area Cottages in good state, with electric blankets & inside fireplace as a bonus- not much to do inside relative small property. Very wet surface/grass area

The cottage was well looked after and the attention to detail was appreciated. The setting is peaceful and private and just down the road from Sanparks Knysna forest entrance so there is access to so many walking trails. We loved our 3 day stay.

What a little gem!! The venue is right on the edge of the Knysna forest and hosts an ample collection of hiking trails, access to Cape Nature venues and a host of information on the "Gold Rush" near Millwood. The area has historical value for the woodcutter families that lived there during the latter part of the 18th century. We planned our hiking activities around our stay there. Unfortunately weather ruined our activities (best to check weather in advance, where possible). With rain and cold, it was a joy to just "hang" around and soak up the beauty and tranquility (amenities like wifi and cable TV, helped as well). A visit to Knysna, the closest commercial hub, was a must. Nights was filled with the songs of hundreds of frogs and, with no city lights around, stars became infinite. This is a must visit if being close to nature is what you want. For us, it was a pleasant step away from our city lives. We'll certainly visit again.
