The owner is a Swiss aunt with many eccentricities. For example, bright lights are not allowed in the bar and lobby no matter day or night. When guests read the menu or drink list, they have to turn on the flashlight function of their mobile phone to see the words on the list clearly. Breakfast has already been paid for when booking a room in advance, but even boiled eggs have to be charged separately! I booked for a week, but after only 2 days, the aunt asked me to pay the bill, afraid that I would not have the money to live, it was too sick!

Une très belle expérience dans un château de la vallée de la Loire! Un véritable voyage dans un univers de la renaissance avec les décorations époustouflantes, les sublimes tenues des personnels dévoués, un petit déjeuner gargantuesque! Bref un must Une critique pour garantir ma probité: le dîner fut bon mais pas excellent comme tout ce qu’il y a dans ce château Excellence et un très très bon rapport qualité prix

Bel établissement dans un décor assez particulier. Je suis un peu gênée par rapport aux employés qui doivent porter des costumes d’époque.
La décoration n’est pas mauvaise mais je trouve les pièces dans le château trop sombres et certains mélanges de couleurs pas spécialement réussis.
Le petit déjeuner est un peu décevant, pas assez varié avec une impression de n’avoir pas assez de choix. Je parle en tant que personne qui a l’habitude de séjourner dans des hôtels haut de gamme.
Dans l’ensemble j’ai aimé l’expérience et je reviendrai.

the castle is an old property that has been incredibly renovated. It has been very tastefully renovated. The rooms are incredible and you feel like living in the XVI century among royals. It is a property that must be visited by those that have appreciation about history and very well renovated castles.

The room and its property was really amazing. Check in service was fantastic, electric charging available, fantastic. The only part of our experience which made us give service a 3 star was the food part and breakfast service. We really weren’t attended too. Not being critical as there was only one on breakfast service, but other people were attended to and we just didn’t feel the love. No juice, no condiments, 1 coffee, waited a while, both our breakfasts were incorrect, hey it happens. Dinner was meant to be a rack of lamb each, we got one cutlet each at 44euro for 1 cutlet. We stayed six nights at this hotel and absolutely loved it! It was such a wonderful base for exploring the Loire Valley, close to so many castles and sights, yet feels secluded and is such a refuge when you come back at the end of a sigh-seeing day. We loved the pool, got massages and facials at the spa, enjoyed meals in the beautiful dining room as well as in the garden just outside our room, and loved just walking around the property and soaking in the tranquility of it all. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. One of my favorite activities we did there was to rent e-bikes from the hotel and spent the day exploring castles through vineyards, and enjoying a delicious picnic made by the hotel as well. A memory I will cherish forever! We did have an issue with the shower our first night, but the staff took care of it immediately and we did not have any further issues with it. One suggestion for the hotel...I realize it is the countryside so to expect some insects, but we did have several daddy longlegs and other small insects in our room. It would have been nice to have a daily sweeping of the room (tall corners that we could not reach ourselves) in order to make it truly feel 5-star. But don't let this deter you, the property, and the rooms, is immaculate, and I would return in a heartbeat. I'm sure that if I had asked or complained, they would have attended to it immediately.

Van een 5 sterren Chateau (met hoge prijzen) verwacht je natuurlijk iets, maar in dit geval werd het een behoorlijke teleurstelling qua prijs/kwaliteit. Tuurlijk is het chateau zeer authentiek (personeel loopt er ook nog bij als soort lakeien; hoeft niet echt van mij) en erg mooi gelegen, maar wat betreft comfort schiet het toch tekort. Kamers niet alleen klein, maar ook niet compleet (gaat om details). Ook daar ontbijt genoten en gedineerd. Niets bijzonders, beetje traditioneel in alle opzichten en niet bijzonder smaakvol. Door een (langere) trip in de Loire streek weten we nu dat er veel betere plekken zijn als je toch al bereid bent om ‘diep’ in de buidel te tasten. Het was er ook opvallend rustig (bijna geen andere gasten), maar dat blijkt te liggen aan de aankomende Olympische Zomerspelen in Parijs (ik snap die verklaring niet). Denk simpelweg dat het z’n geld niet waard is. Maar misschien hadden wij gewoon even ‘pech’. Dat zou ook kunnen…
