Room was comfortable however spoilt by a poor shower lukewarm water only. Hair dryer did not work.

Hotel staff is super friendly and helpful and went out of the normal way to help and support.
Clean and large rooms, cosy bar and restaurant with very good and wide food selection.
Really enjoyed our stay, beautiful countryside surrounding

Lovely small hotel bar and restaurant, rooms modern and clean staff very friendlyband extremely helpful. Dinner was lovely a totally enjoyable stay in the heart if the Essex countryside close to river walks and 2 small towns with a train station to the heart of london

We arrived at the The Lodge and we were greeted with a warm and very friendly welcome. We were shown to our room which was very spacious, immaculately clean and perfect for a night or two away from home. Everything was spotlessly clean, the bathroom provided lovely fresh towels and shower gels. Tea and coffee making facilities were great and welcomed in the morning if you don’t want to venture downstairs for breakfast. We enjoy our stay so much we booked a second night! Can’t wait to come back again. Keep up the great work!

We popped into the lodge for a bite to eat on our way home, and I’m very glad we did! The service was spot on, we didn’t have to wait too long to be served even though it was busy, the staff were friendly and attentive throughout. The food arrived promptly and was delicious, we cleared our plates! We can not recommend this place enough, we WILL be going back.

We spent the night here and were very impressed with the marquee and had a great time at the party . The family room we stayed in was clean tidy and comfortable. We then all had breakfast and the staff was very attentive and helpful especially for my daughter needs as she’s gluten free , so we decided to stay on for lunch which was also very nice . I would highly recommend

A great overnight stay. Rooms clean and bed comfortable with the usual refreshments. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Didn’t eat there but from what we saw the food looked well cooked and inviting. Very quiet with great views from the room. Would happily stay there again when in the area.

The best roast dinner ever ! Meat fell apart !! Chef very friendly nothing was to much trouble Food very hot which is a must for me My friend and I had a lovely time Thanks lady chef . Julie and Shazza Definitely be returning !! Lovely and clean to Can’t fit puddings in as you can see dinner was massive

We have stayed here, on a few occasions whilst visiting family, Staff are always welcoming and friendly. Rooms are comfortable and clean.The food was great there is a huge choice on the menu and the hotel is popular , although there is a restaurant separate from the bar where you can book a table. The grounds are well maintained with seating outside . However, the poor lonely duck on the pond needs a mate and the duck house needs repairing, we felt a bit sad for it. But once again a great stay.
